    Hey all,

In reading through the forums, I see people talk about how their racquet is X points head head or X points head light (i.e. 6pts head heavy). What does that mean and how does one determine this?

A "point" is 1/8 of an inch.....or an inch is 8 points.

Whether a racket is head light or head heavy depends on whether or not the racket balances toward the head or toward the handle away from its midpoint.

A standard racket is 27 inches. Its midpoint is 13.5 inches. If a racket is 6 points head light its balance is 3/4 inches headlight.

Ahh okay, and is all of this just measured with a dowel and yard stick?

It is indeed! I use an even more "poor man's set up", A Tape Measure and the sharp edge of an old wooden table I made! :)
