I usually play with my Dunlop Aerogel 200 and full Luxilon BB Ace 18 @58lb.
I am very happy with this setup but I always like to try new strings.
I never played with pro supex big ace so I don't know what tension I should use. Shall I string them @58, like my BB Ace?
    thank you very much.

If I ever change strings to try something new I always start at what I typically string at. That's your bench mark. From there if its off, adjust 2-3 lbs either way to your desired feel.

I agree. But I used to string syn gut at 60 now I'm down to 53 with BA. Sometimes I go even lower, like high 40's and I use the 18g, which gives awesome spin!

Adjust a couple of pounds for every gauge difference and drop about 5-10% if you changing from syn gut to polyester.
With big ace I would not drop more than 5% as it is quite elastic.

string it at 59/60lbs; much more softer than luxilons.

You are totally right. I am sorry I saw your post only now. Actually I strung them @60/58 and still I was totally lacking control. I'm gonna cut them and go a little higher. Can you suggest other strings similar to BB Ace 18?

I am currently using premier ace/syngut titan at 59/57 and have a set of big ace to try. Should i lower the tension alot or just to like 57/55?

IMO you should go a little up maybe. As far as I understand (I might be wrong) premier ace are stiffer then big ace. So you could experience the same thing that happened to me.
When I strung big ace 58/56 (the same tension I was using for BB ace) I had control issues. I had to put a lot of spin to keep the ball in. Now i have big ace @64/62 and it's better, but I think I should go up a little more.
I'm gonna try premier ace and few more polys next week and I'll report back.
    I hope this helps.

Even though premiere ace was in a hybrid with a soft syngut, i should still go higher?

Its very softy as its 1.17 and if you string it too low it can feel very mushy.
I would go from 57-60 and no lower

sorry, I understood you wanted to make the same hybrid using BA instead of PA.
I am not a string guru here, but I would start from the same tension you were using 59/57. Even if I still have the doubt that you are gonna feel lack of control, IMO.
But I am biased because I hate when I string too low. I have to change too much of my mechanics to keep the ball in. While if I string too high I can always try to be more focused on my swing and generate more power/depth.

Yeah that sounds good. BA is really soft, almost as much as a synth gut. I am sure you will love it

Played with it tonight. REALLY soft, softer then my premier ace/syngut titan hybrid. Definately no loss in power but can definately see the difference in spin. Hope it lasts a bit longer aswell!

    greetings mozzer,
Just to make sure I've followed your posts correctly... You now have a full job BA, not a hybrid BA/syngut titan?

And what racquet are you using?

I have some BA 18/1.22 that I'm looking forward to trying, either full or in a hybrid.

    Many thanks.
