If she doesn't win, in my opinion it will be similar to how Nadal lost, if not a bigger upset. The womens field is far worse than the mens field is on clay (comparatively speaking of course) and Henin is miles ahead of everyone else. If she even drops a set it would be pretty surprising too. I find it hard to believe that anyone can stop her and the only way she will not win is if she is injured.

    Discuss.

As much as I'm not a Henin fan,I agree that Henin is clearly the frontrunner by a pretty large margin for the FO,but who knows she may be upset this year by other players who are pretty good on clay too?

I think the only realistic contenders for the FO are Henin,Safina and Kuznetsova. But obviously the latter two are headcases and not as good as Henin on clay.

Hahha, I do think if she plays well and really gets it together, she will be the favorite. But...a stroll? I don't think there's any strolling when you are 4 or 5 inches shorter than the average opponent, LOL!

Glad she's back. I really hope she plays well and more importantly, reverses the spoiled sport thing she's had going for the past few yrs.

That's a bit unfair of an analogy, considering Nadal has been defending champion and he has been playing all along prior to the match while Justine;s been singing French karaoke. I'm just glad she decided to come back.

I agree. The French Open is in the bag already. If she doesnt tie or break Evert's French Open record she will be kicking herself for retiring 2 years and missing out on 2 more certain French Opens. The question is how many of the other slams she can win with Clijsters, Serena, and maybe Sharapova to challenge her at the other 3.

LOL who is going to make her work on clay. Headcase Safina, her pigeon Kuznetsova, Serena, Ivanovic who was just waxed by her on a hard court, Venus or Sharapova (now I am really starting to laugh). You should check the bookies odds already out. Henin's odds to win the French are lower than anyone for any slam this year, and they came out before she even played her first tournament back.

I found her mentally insecure.. her sight was like afraid.. I watched two games of the starting second set, and I saw her looking to his couch very afraid after every point, like she was under preassure. I think that that will play an important roll on her grand slam results this year. Tecnically she can win everything but his mind may not be strong enough to put that potential in the crucial moments. I hope I'm wrong because she has a beautiful game :)

Absolutely. Pretty sure the OP was engaging in some hyperbole there.

    Beware!!!!!

I think that Henin will have to take care of Serena Williams,Caroline Wozniacki and Yanina Wickmayer if she wants to win some tournaments...In this moment the maximum level in the sport is given by these three players and I find that they are difficult to beat nowadays...They are the only three ladies which have done a tremendous upgrade on the past 2009 season...
-''So Justine beware of Serena,Caroline and Yanina if you want to win some tourny!!!"-

On clay Justine could beat those 3 women from a wheelchair. Actually Caroline and Yanica she could beat on all surfaces from a wheelchair.

There's a lot of time between now and Roland Garros. Henin's been off the tour for some time and her match play game on clay will inevitably show some rust. Given the nature of the clay court game in general, you don't simply "walk" to a title. You've completely ruled any of the players you've named above and all the contenders you didn't name coming into fighting shape at the right time.

I'm glad the bookies can make their predictions so far ahead of time. Let's check back in April/May when there's some real substance to these predictions.

Actually the French Open since 2003 when Henin and Nadal have actually played has been the biggest lock for anyone outside of Federer at the U.S Open. Henin has won every year she played since then minus 2004 when she was very ill in the midst of her viral infection, and Nadal everytime he played ever apart from last year. Rarely were either even challenged. So much for the nature of the clay court game, LOL! Yes I am discounting those players I listed since none of them have a hope in hell vs Henin at the French. Henin will have 2 months of clay court tennis to shake off any clay court rust before the French, yet on hard courts is already looking really good in her first event back. I doubt it will be a problem. The womens clay court game is so bad that Serena way past her clay court prime nearly won last years French. With the joke the womens clay court field is Henin should be expected to not only win but to cruise to the title and most likely will. Give me one credible argument why any women should be considered remote threats to her at the French then we can talk.

Justine Henin and Clijsters are set to dominate the WTA. Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. Two retirees give another shot and, in the process, reveal the joke of a field the WTA really is.

The women's game needs to be cleared of the weak-egoed, the drama queens, and of course the fat asses.

Justine, please put Serena Williams back into her place and bring order to women's tennis.

SW, Wozniacki and Wickmayer are nothing compared to Henin on clay. That is such a poor comparison. No one in this playing field could be compared to Henin on clay except maybe Ivanovic in form or a non-brain explosion version of Safina and even then they would probably lose in straights.

Well Williams cheats more so it will cancel out non-existant cheating from Henin.

I find your statement correct if we were in the year 2008...From that year onwards and especially in the last one a great upgrade took place in the game of the three players I mention...so perhaps now she will have to get up from her wheelchair and run the hell out of her to win any matches they played together...Poor Justine...

The three players I mention are the strongest and more intelligent in the circuit and if they come across Henin she will have a VERY hard time trying to win some set...Definitively she will have to think over if she is retiring permanently...

Justine took Kim all the way in her first tournmanet back and on HC. By the time the FO starts. Henin will be on fire. No one will stop her i tell you!

I would like to point out that they would all be beaten from a wheelchair by our Esther Vergeer. Most dominant tennisplayer of all time and true GOAT.
