Sorry, but I've spent the last hour or so trying to find out what his fist pump was called (and its origin if possible). I've heard it before, but I'm fed up with searching. Can someone put me out of my misery?

On top of that... I'm curious if anyone here uses it?

An aussie friend told me it was something like 'Facing the snake' (face to face) as in 'fight your demons and don't give up'

Apparently, as far as he told me, it's a pretty known hand gesture in Aussieland.

    So go figure.

    OrangeOne, can you confirm?

    What an interesting post. Thanks.

I seem to remember one of the Swedish players once saying that it was like talking eyeball to eyeball with a friendly goose - which is pretty well what the hand shape looks like.

I'm interested to see that Kroon claims it as his invention as I thought it was just a national Swedish thing to do.

I don't know how to place pictures here, and I don't know that I have the copyright to do so even if I did, but the following photo (I think from the Montreal Masters website) shows Novak Djokavic doing the reverse of this with his fingers pointing away from his face during one of his last three matches last week in Montreal. He may have swung his hand round to face his eyes just before or after the photo was taken.

(Maybe someone can tell me how to place pictures here. I use an Apple Mac).

  7. Sounds like a euphemism for something my ex-wife would never do.

can't seem to get your link to work. The way I post pics is to use the advanced entry function here on the forum, use the "insert image" button (looks like a pic of a mountain) and enter your full URL including the http part. Try that.

IF the image is sitting on your desktop, that won't work. you need to use a hosting service or have server space like I do. if you use mac.com, they give you server space you can use to link to for posting images.

    hope that helps

I read somewhere that it also meant "I've had it up to here!".

    Hey, dunloplayah, THANKS!!!

This is the picture of Djoky I mentioned above. It almost seems to be a gesture of "OK, you think you're hot? Beat that!"

This has no meaning in serbia, now maybe he learned a few tricks here and there but I doubt this is what he was trying to say ..
