The only chance Monfils has of making the final is for Hewitt to upset Nadal, and for Monfils to then upset Hewitt. Monfils would have no chance vs Nadal, zippo, nada. He only got several games off him in their match in Roma.

Hewitt vs. Nalbandian was boring at Wimbledon where the rallies are comparatively shorter than at the French.

It'll be a snore-fest if it happens at Roland Garros.

If you can win games, then you can win sets, and if you can win sets, then you can win matches...

Hewitt vs Nalbandian - that would be an interesting final, I suppose, but I'm pretty sure it won't happen.

Fed or Nadal will make the final - the chances of BOTH of them being upset seem damn low.

I was leaning towards Ancic and Monfils final, but your use of persuation and pure logic won me over.

Ok here is some more practical logic:

Ancic isnt agile, he doesnt move well at all on any surface let alone clay, his forehand breaks down, his 2nd serve is attackable and breaks down, he had 0 winners in almost a full set vs Blake in their match in Hamburg last week(he still won the match which tells you something about how Blake can spray balls all over the place, something he wont get from a string of strong opponents in the row in the late rounds, especialy Roger), and he has only one slam semi in his whole career up until now, and it was on grass, his best surface by far.

As for Monils he plays too far behind the baseline and in alot of ways looks like a poor mans Andy Roddick, way behind the baseline trying to overpower people, releases alot of the thrust of his swing before he applies it all through the ball so he doesnt get all the power and weight and distribution that he is putting out into his shots, isnt that smart a player, and doesnt move that well compared to a Federer or a Nadal.

    Is that better.

Reading that, one would think we are talking about the 80th player of the world or something. Fact is, Monfils does possess the intangibles, and he wins matches that, according to your analyisis, he shouldn´t be winning.

Hewitt-Nalbandian would be an interesting rematch from last year's Davis Cup QF. Nal won easily. They played on grass in Australia (Melbourne?).
