Hewitts physique

    Hi guys,
    I'm not sure if someone mentioned this over the Australian Open. But did anyone notice Leyton's 'new' physique? It appeared as though he beefed up over christmas, really filled out the part for the muscle shirt.
    Wonder what his training incorporated.

    I was told by some ATP pros already 1yr ago that he was doing more weights, thus this is not overnight. Not sure what exactly did he do though.

    I'm not sure about every detail of what he did. But i heard his coach in an interview. Some of the things they did over the summer included activities totally unrelated to tennis. He said being coordinated in other activities would help general balance and co-ordination in tennis also. And it would also help stay motivated and keep interesed in training. He said they did some cross training activities including some water sports like a lot of board paddling at the beach. He said he also a lot of did core work- probably using medicine balls etc. And i think he did beach running and hill running.

    His coach is an ex AFL conditioner, so he knows what he's doing. Hewitt will probably drop a bit of weight during the season.

    he needed to get bigger so he can defend himself from other players (hoping he will not get beaten up) =P
