between these 2 matches of Murray and Nole, AO 2012 Semifinal or USO 2012 Final?

For me its the Aussie meeting since it was very exciting and the shot-making was amazing rather than the final which was full of slices and "practice" rallies as the commentators pointed out.

AO SF simply because there was no wind to disturb the shot quality. They were ripping the ball in AO.

USO was simply keep the ball in the court at times (pushing according to some posters here LOL!)

Agree that the wind destroyed the match, in fact it destroyed the semis match of Berdych and Muzza too.

I agree. Anyone trying to use this as a method of undermining Murray's win needs a reality check; however I am sure to agree that Tennis without wind is much better to watch and the AO semifinal was great to watch.

AO semifinal a much better match. Glad Murray finally bagged a major, but the general ugliness of play just really took me out of it emotionally.

AO Semi-Final was the best match of the year so far.

I didn't see the Australian semifinal, but I assume it was better. The U.S. Open final was pretty poor. Both players played boring, consistent tennis. So many shots right into the middle of the court, no angles, not much aggressive play (except from Nole in the third and fourth sets). Really bland match all around, mostly due to the wind and nerves, I guess.

quality better in AO final, but the mental strength needed for a grand slam final in those conditions was impressive

AO semifinal is probably my favorite match of the year so far.

Without a doubt, AusO was better and scheduling allowed them both to fight to the very end.

The AO 2012 was the highest level displayed for Novak this year and arguably Murray (Olympics/W)

Not surprised many pick their Aussie meeting.

If Fed hadn't been shattered after his Olympics semi Murray's level might have topped even the AO semi.

Largely agree. Wouldn't say the matches were "destroyed" but they were seriously affected.
The AO by a large margin.
