I was recently watching the 2000 Wimbledon final and was moved by Sampras' achievement of winning a men's record 13th singles Grand Slam. At the time, surely, he and everyone must have thought that this record would stand for a very long time.

At the time, Rafael Nadal, was 14, and 21 months from winning his first ever ATP Match. Roger Federer was 18 and had reached his first tournament final 6 months earlier.

Who would have thought that a little more than 13 years later, both of these teenagers would win 13 and 17 grand slams respectively.

This thread seems like its more about Nadal and Federer, it should be moved to the Pro Player section
