Venus survived a close match with Kuznetsova to advance to the finals of this exhibition event against Dementieva.

Is this an omen of better things to come? If Venus can contend with the Russians by beating Kuznetsova and having a chance to beat Dementieva tommorrow or probably happening right now in Hong Kong, she's already beaten two of the top 6 players. She is already starting to look like a better player.

2004 was a bad year for the gemini women. First Justin got that mysterious illness, then Kim injured her wrist, Venus lost her form and suffered some weird loses (Raymond?, Sprem?), Petrova disappeared, and Lindsay, even though she got to #1, I'm sure she'd much rather won a Grand Slam.

2005 is predicted to be spectacular.
