How about only replacing the crosses ?

    If your not a string breaker and you use a poly/syn hybrid can you change just the crosses when they go a little flat ? Poly lasts so long and keeps its tension why not use it longer ? Thanks for your replys .

    You can do what you want, but a stringer isn't going to want to do most of the labor of a string job to turn out a substandard job. The poly is what loses tension the quickest so it makes no sense to do this.
