I want to get sponsored by head one day but how?
I have no idea. Maybe just get really good. Someone will notice.
Just be awesome.
ranking (obviously higher the better)
type of tournament played (kalamazoo/ other international events vs no-name small junior tournies)
luck (cant get sponsored if the reps don't see you playing well)
practice partners/coaching (rafa got spotted early by babolat via moya. most juniors' first contracts come through their coaches)
country of origin (better chance of getting good money if tennis is a big industry in your country)
marketability (generally proportional to physical attractiveness for girls, and for playing style and personality for guys. counter-example: Davydenko, who didn't have an apparel sponsor even when he was top-5 in the world)
ultimately, it comes down to "how much money I can make for the company which sponsors me, via additional sales." the more useful you are on that front, the better the deal you can get.
Play at a D1 school or have a high ITF ranking, or become a pro.
But seriously, this belongs in the racquet section or another section,
Work at a well known tennis shop.
Beat the crap out of the rep. Maybe try that in tennis.
I did both, got free PrinceChangs.
Have talent, even Davydenko has a sponsor.
These guys check the local state rankings every year and contact the top guys!! So be good and get up there or there are ways you can apply if you are a certified coach or player
