I am learning how to hit a top spin serve. I get top spin by brushing the
ball (7-1 clock position) and hit toward the sky, but there's no pace, just
moon-balls. If I hit forward and/or down then there's no topspin. How do you do it? Thanks.

move the toss out towards the court a little more. Experiment with it and you'll find a good compromise of flat toss and topspin toss.

You still need to get under the ball when you hit it. Just brushing the ball is a useless serve. You're hitting a serve with pace, but using the topspin to give you a bit more margin of error. You are still going to drive the ball forward, but instead of just pronating through the ball, shave a bit off the back at the same time.

I get more pace from pronating and hit through the ball like hitting a flat serve. But your swing path is a little more to the side than forward. Check the video on fuzzyyellowballs web site.
