I have always pronounced it as P-O-G as separate letters.

Recently I met someone who called it "Pog" (like you would pronounce "hog" or "fog"). Is this a common practice?

    How do you pronounce it?

I call it P.O.G (pee-o-gee). I would probably feel like smashing someone in the face if they called it Pog.

I assumed everyone called it a "POG", P-O-G takes longer to say out loud.

I don't really say anything. But I suppose if I had to pronounce it, I'd just say POG, like as in "Alf is back... in pog form."

Actually, a great question. When I write it, I think "Pog" which in my mind sounds like "fog."

But, I only write POG. If I'm every actually speaking with someone about racquets, I'll say Prince Original Graphite, or Prince Graphite. I don't think I've ever actually said "POG" out loud.

If i ever heard someone say "Pog" I would be forced to crack their racquet with a slammer.

    Thank you...my thoughts exactly.

Prince Original Graphite = P.O.G. not "pog"
United States Tennis Association = U.S.T.A. not "usta"

P.O.G. All as separate letters is how I would say it but I feel if you are talking you should always say the full acronym. I mean, is it that hard to say Prince Original Graphite?

I play one and when I am reading it, I say POG as in fog. However, in conversation it is always referred to as my 1984 Prince Graphite.

For those w/ violent tendencies like smashing or hammering, I think you should think along the lines of what I learned in college.

    "You don't call a fraternity a frat just as you don't call a country boy a c**t!"

If you say pawg your frame is guaranteed to crack after the next 20 minutes of heavy hitting, it's ALWAYS P.O.G.

I say Pog like I say NASA, not N. A. S. A. Of course POG stands for Prince Graphite. There is no "Original" in the name. However since all rackets are now graphite, it is not the unique descriptor it once was (ie. it was not a Prince Pro).

I think generally speaking, most tennis shops and tennis players would have no idea what you meant either way.

Prince made updated versions (the Graphite II, etc), so that's why the "original" is there.

Obviously we are all proud users of Prince Original Graphites.
Sadly, I never met anyone who uses POG or P.O.G or Prince Original Graphite whatsoever in my area since 2002. Just a couple Midplus users.

I don't think we are a good sample of tennis players in the world.
