What's a good distance for your serve toss into the court. I find that I net a lot of serves by tossing too deep into the court so I'm looking for a distance far enough to get a good smack on the ball, but not so far that I net the serve.

back in the day, when i was first learning my serve, i was taught to put my racquet handle on my left toe and point the head out into the court and slightly to the right (maybe 20-30 degrees).... that's for a righty, like me. then, if i were to toss and let it drop it was suppose to land dead center in the head. i think it's a good rule of thumb.

So in other words, around 2 feet.
