How long did it take you to develop power as a weapon?

I started playing late this past May. I average 10-15 hours a week on the court. Just this past week I've been able to use both power and control effectively on my forehand and to a lesser degree my serve. My backhand is still lagging behind, but i suppose thats natural as I never had formal one on one coaching. I seem to be improving, but more slowly than with my other strokes.

The powers not a weapon if the control of it causes more harm than good.

Yeah I was going to say, hitting with power placement, yeah, I don't think I'll ever get that down consistently.

It's pretty simple, if you want good power, you'll get little to no control to go with it.

If you want excellent control, you won't get much power with it.
