    Hi,

Do you expect a racquet to NOT crack within a year or two of playing?
Or what is your demand of a racquets durability?

Yeah, I don't think a racket should crack unless you abuse it or string it badly.

for Prince, i've got one lasting 10 yrs and then i accidentally droped it on an escalator and then bump it on an obj near the wall i practised. it developed cracks on both sides of 3-9

for PK-5G, it cracked at around 4 o'clock. without any abuse. i guess they strung it too tight for me. esp the cross lines.

that's my 2 cents :D kidding, my only 2 experience of cracking frames

Why would you ever expect a racket to crack, regardless of age?

    This is ridiculous.

    goforgold99,
two of my 106blades are about one year old and played and strung quite frequently (i play about 3-4 two-hrs. sessions weekly in summer and 3 sessions in winter, plus competitions), and have no cracks yet, not even the paint (i chipped them but that is not a crack). i'm surely not hitting as hard as many youngsters do today, but i'm not a softballer either.
yes, racquets can crack due to material stress, which mainly comes from stringing (even if properly done) and from hard offcentershots. but it would not be appropriate to give any time estimates, since it depends on a lot of variables - stringtype, tension, frequency of play, type of play, temperatures played at, etc., etc.

i expect my frames to hold up until they go out of style and i just don't want to look at them anymore. by then i don't care if they are cracked, but they should not be (and never have been). take care of your frame and it will take care of you!
