....Everyone starts to loath him take shots and him, and wish death to him and his offspring? it's going to happen...no one like anyone winning too much....

    I can see it now....

"Murray is number 2 but he'll take the ranking from overrated Nadal"

"Nadal isn't that good, he played in weak era where his only competion was a player out of his generation, Djokovic and the awesome number 2 murray"

"If Nadal played in Sampras era he would get PWNED!!!"

"I rate borg higher than Nadal despite his 76.9 slams"

"Nadal has no volleying skills...not like the golden sampras era"

"WTF? Nadal only won one slam this year? pathetic terrible year from Nadal"

The fact is, everyone doesn't like him (myself included) and want him to drop from number 1, but he is way too good and is better than all expectations.

It's sort of a joke topic, but everyone is so in Lust with Nadal now digging through his trash for his old stretched out undies and whatnot:-|..either they liked him, jumped on the bandwagon or are just tipsy over the fact that he is not only guarding Sampras record...but is far from beating it (for now)

It's tough..no downright DIFFICULT to be a fedfan on this forum if his name is mentioned expect him to be crucified via 2 pages of bashing, overanalyzing his quotes, and likening his accomplishments to that of James Blake

Everyone in this forum has already been saying all of those things for a few years. And hes proved them all wrong. How many threads has there been about Nadal never being able to win a slam on grass, or on HC. HA!

Just take a deep breath and embrace the Rafa.

lmao! It happens to all great champions and it will happen to nadal as well. He will start losing more and more, suffering from uncharacteristic losses and people will be like he's done, stick a fork in him, he only won because of a weak era. Then you will see who the real fans are and who are glory hunters.

Until today no one has been consistently able to find an answer to his extreme topspin and his court coverage. Add this to the fact that he has become (or is becoming) a very complete player, and I don't see a vice threatening him soon.

As long as he paces himself during the hardcourt tourneys, he'll be fit enough to take flight during the slams on the natural surfaces (clay and grass), and dominate there for a long time.

I think Rafa has faced more criticism from the very start. His fans are his fans, but others he has always had to work very hard to impress. Even now, I don't think he is at all loved or adored to a great extent. He has always faced criticism and I don't think being number one has or will change that. Doesn't matter, really, for Roger or Rafa. My opinion and love for either player is not based on others' love or regard for them.

As long as he has his fitness and he speed he will be number one.

No one string enough matches together for a whole season to de-thrown Nadal... At least for the next 2 years.

Well, I'm a Blake fan, and I don't hate Federer, but I like Nadal, he just shows so much heart and emotion out there. I like Nadal more than Federer, because Nadal is more emotional out there on the court, Federer is just too boring.
