I got to say I don't buy very expensive shoes; in fact, I never spend more 60/$70 which I think it's a fair price for a decent pair of shoes and I have bought only Adidas so far. However, if I had to play only indoor they would last me about 8/9 moths but on out door courts I wear them out if 2/3 months regularly.

    How about you?

I rotate between 3 pairs and I play 90% of my tennis on clay, so usually I get 6-8 months out of a pair.

6-8 months. Courtballistec soles have excellent durability. I tend to wear our the inner heel of the shoes. I play 3-5 times a week -- half hard court half clay

I'm in about to return my shoes just bought...played for about 10 hours and the thread on the out sole on the front toes are almost gone.

Did you guys tried the Babolat propulse 2?
I'm also thinking about wilson any suggestion there? does wilson shoes have a true fit?

My barricades last me about 3 months, my 2.3s lasted all of 2 months, 3.3s were a little better but wore a hole in the dragon. However my CC IIs I have had since march and are still going strong! I think I might Break them tomorrow. I do a lot of sliding on hard courts, I grew up on clay courts at my club since I was like 7. I put alot of stress on my shoe being that Im 6'5" and 250 lbs. is also not easy on a shoe either.

I am on my 3rd set of Babolat Propulse 3 and they only last about 5-6 weeks, I play 4-5 times a week and run a around the court, a lot. I would think they would last a little longer...Im bummed.... I do love the support they give...having bad ankles and such.....I wil still buy them...what can you do....

    From Nov.2011- Nov.2012:

Beginning of last year: 1 pair of vapor 9's lasted about a month and a half.
Spring time: 1 pair of barricade 7's lasted about 3 months, the replacement lasted another 3 months
Summer to fall time: 1 pair of CB 4.3's lasted me about 4 months together with replacement.

Just bought a pair of CB 3.3's during the black friday sale and expect that to last me another 4 months with the replacement.

Spend about $400 per year on shoes, really need to cut down on those shoes....

barracade 6's lasting me around a year with around 8hours of play per week. But i push them right to the end and use shoe gel at times. I wonder how long CB's would last me...

anyone use any good liquid rubber gel to prolong shoe life?

Tried Shoe Goo, stuff is only good for patching up holes and allowing the other parts of the outsole to catch up to the most worn out part. Doesn't last very long, 3 days max with a patch job then you have to do it again. Also, you want to wait 4 days or more after applying before you go on court or else you'll smudge up the court and also before you play rub your shoe on concrete and sand off the slippery parts until its smooth, you don't want to slip.

thanks man....3 days sounds much longer than what I'm used to.
I use hi tech patch, but it comes off in one session. Its probably better than nothing. But I think i must give shoe goo a try next time...

Good to know tennis shoes are wearing fast. I wear running shoes ($140) and get about 20 uses (80 hours / 2 months) before the forefoot rubber is completely gone and down to the foam.

    That sounds painful.

With a red permanent marker, I'll put a large L on the front of my left shoe and a large R on the right one. I've got corresponding indicators tattooed on my feet so that I always get the correct shoe in the proper orientation on each foot. Never rotate them.

Same here, I'm rotating through 6 pairs of V8 at the moment. I hate brand spanking new shoes, this way they're all worn evenly.
