How many more times does Novak have to beat Federer...

Discussion in 'General Pro Player Discussion' started by timeisonmyside, Jul 5, 2012.

?

When will TT stop picking Fed over Novak?

  1. After Wimby 12' beating Fed at his beloved major.

    12.9%
  2. After beating Fed at his last stronghold, WTFs.

    1.6%
  3. After flipping the total h2h in Nole's favor.

    4.8%
  4. Never, the answer to everything is "Fed in 4"

    80.6%

.... Before TT posters stop favoring Fed in polls?

Even TTers don't pick Fed over Rafa anymore. Not sure when this happened exactly. Wimby 08? AO 09? FO 11?

When will the tide turn on TT?

İt isnt all important anymore Djoko got owned by PRİME FED.İt is as simple as that.Even today the match is on Feds racquet more than Djokos. The problem at the moment is Fed is an old player in tennis terms.Otherwise Djoko would stand no chance he isnt a bad match up for Fed by any means.

Fed is obviously hurt. He had to wear a v neck under shirt, or was it 10 rolls of K tape under his Nike polo to support his back pain. Maybe it was just a new fashion statement?

With the exception of facing Nadal on clay, Federer has led every poll on this board for countless years.....so not until he retires.

Novaks got his number. He is going to wipe the grass with Fed tomorrow in straights.

Let's see, maybe after tomorrow. Tomorrow Djokovic is the favourite, but Roger has a chance. He'll need to play even better than against Youzhny though. However, the way he played against Malisse and Benneteau he stands no chance.

Fed has never lost to joker when he has won. So that might explain things. :)

Also, Federer has never lost to Djokovic at Wimbledon when they haven't played before. Adds another interesting dynamic.

The majority here is Fed fans who will support no one but Fed (blindly or not). It's not gonna change unless some of them grow some sense, and many of them wake up from their dreams and stop living in the past.

I don't know if some tards over here get the fact that whole point of being a fan is you pick your player to win irrespective of the head to head. There is nothing wrong in it.

According to Planet TW pollers Federer was favored to beat Nadal in the 2006, 2007, 2008 (lol), and 2011 French Open finals. According to Planet TW pollers Federer is either the best, 2nd, or 3rd best clay courter in history, even with only 1 French Open and 0 Rome or Monte Carlo titles, and years of rapage by Nadal (who according to Planet TW is only the 2nd, 3rd, or lower best clay courter ever himself). According to Planet TW Federer is a better grass courter than Sampras with less Wimbledons, and playing in a weaker grass field played on baseline-friendly grass. According to Planet TW Federer is over 5 years past his prime, a gimpy old man who can barely stand up, yet wins every poll to win every tournament he enters.

So to answer your question it will never happen. Djokovic could win 20 slams in a row and Federer will still win every poll between them be it for a match result or involving anything else. This is www.Federerworship.com, anything else is secondary. Get used to it.

Funny thing is on this occasion I do think Federer has a good shot to beat Djokovic.

Agreed. This*IS* an interesting dynamic. So, they have never lost to one another when they haven't played. This makes them both undefeated against each other in this dynamic.

You're right come to think of it. TT was favoring Fed over Rafa at FO 2011 after all the *******s wet their pants over the Djokovic victory.

I would even believe in Federer to beat Djokovic if Federer magically became a cripled 70 year old.

That what it would mean to be a ******* and Fedfan. Unrealistic and Postive.....not listening to other camp thoughts even if were the truth or simple BS!

Novak can win every single damm time....Always behind Federer but would admit Novak may beat him.

Every Single Poll....vote Federer, cheer for Federer.

This makes sense and I can dig being a fan and "wanting" Fed to win. But when people start saying that Fed looked awesome against Youzhny and thus will beat Djoko in 4, well thats just ridiculous. Either people didn't watch the match, didn't play close attention, or don't watch Roger much to know what his 100% level is nowadays.

Yeah I mean, it's not like Federer had a set point in the 1st against Rafa, or won the third set or anything.

And I think all of Federer-Nadal's meetings at RG were 4-setters, just that 2008 was not..

But the 2011 4th set was a breadstick.

I wanna see Fed win and get to #1, but I wouldn't necessarily mind him losing to Novak, who eventually gets blown up by an on fire Tsonga.

It's possible. Tsonga is good enough to beat Federer at Wimbledon (last year) and play a very competitive 4-setter vs Djokovic just after that..

its pretty reasonable to think fed has big chance against djok.

    - djok's record on faster HCs against fed is not real good
    - never played on grass but fed likes it better than djok
    - fed's in pretty good form
    - no nadal waiting in final so motivation will be high

last time they met on a fast surface was USO 2011. djok got the win in really tough 5 setter but he was playing insane tennis last yr

nole is favourite sure. but i think this is prolly the best chance fed has had of beating djok since the beginning of last yr. ppl who think its foregone conclusion r pretty ignorant. even b4 rafa went out, i thought fed would be only player capable of stopping djok from winning the title

Federer would have to be retire for him not to be considered he favourite for every event he enters. Hard to bet against the greatest ever.

Djokovic had the HUGE edge until Wednesday, whenFed came out and destroyed Youzhny.

If Fed plays that type of tennis he has a good shot.

If he plays like he does at RG, it will be a rollover.

Bookies thought so too, with RF at 7/4, but a nice payout for me. Don't feel bad, you are not the only one to get it completely and irredeemably wrong.
