So it just released today how many of you guys are getting it?
I'm in! I preordered mine last week.
Picking mine up today.
I already got mine 6 last week!
eww no im currently using 2010/2011 blx federer
Maybe yes, probably yes. But I just bought a two VCORE 97 so we will see when.
Negative. Sticking with my Rebels.
I've been waiting since 2011 for this thing to come out!
When you guys get the new APD make sure to post pics
If it were heavier and flexier I would buy one (the cosmetics are simply bada$$).
Prefer 2009 Pure Storm Ltd GT
I find the "regular" Babalots too stiff/rigid...
Personal preference, though
i am getting it for sure, 2 of them.
My first choice was Djokovic's new Head racquet but that racquet won't be for sale until January and my health benefits for 2012 expires on Dec 31. So, I will have to go with my second choice the Babolat APD 2013. Every year, my company's health benefits plan gives each employee $300 to spend on anything sports related and every year I would use it to buy tennis racquets
Your so lucky! I wish i had that!
I'm going to get the Team version, probably end of the month.
Thanks. I know. the company's position is employees who participate in sports will be more productive, so it's a win-win situation for everyone.
Mitch, which models do you prefer?
Im getting two and also a Volkl V1 to rest the arm sometimes
I just ordered a Team and should have it by Tuesday. I want to give it a try because aside from the length, the specs are similar to my PD 107 ('12) so my curiosity got the best of me...
wow. I ordered yesterday before coming to work.
today when I came back from the tennis courts, the racquets had already arrived. Fantastic. Thank you TW.
Look's better than online
They look great Mick! What string do you use?
Thanks guys. i use dunlop black widow 16. I really like that string
Its should be able to tame the power of the APD... Tension?
I'm not.... Its not like I get frames with matching specs for a fraction of the cost..... haha...
Mine will be here on Monday. Will post pics.
It looks cooler in person, one of my friends had a few... Just a little to flashy for me.
Cant wait to see it!
you won't believe it: 40 lbs
Are you the guy who did the test at 40lbs and 20lbs? My dad is trying 45lbs on his next restring and I might try 35lbs or something as well. Tell me what you think of the APD at 40lbs please!
nope that wasn't me.
i have played with low tension strings for while now. I got most of my racquets strung with Black Widow at 40 lbs. the biggest head size is 110 (Head Agassi Radical Limited), smallest head size is 85 (the Wilson Prostaff 6.0). They all feel great to me, so I am sure 40 lbs for the Babolat APD will work out well too. Will let you know, no problem.
Its a low powered string at any tension, so not much of a surprise.
yeah. for me, if strung at the higher tension range, the force at impact is probably too much to bear.
Now that Babolat has no competition from TW it's selling the new APD for $50 more than it sold the new PD down under.
Who strung it?
If this is Better than Wilson 99S, then I might get it.
I know right. It might be a close between these 2 sticks. We will just have to wait and see
That was my question as well. I decided not to wait because the 99S is made to give more spin to players who don't generate a ton on their own. I hit with a western FH and semi-western BH. I've hit with racket set-ups that encourage spin before (16x19, looser strings, spin strings, etc.) and it actually hurts my game. The strings get so much bite on the ball that I can't flatten out my shots at all. Even if I contact the ball with the racket face closed, the strings still catch it and send it up first. I want this effect to a certain extent, but too much is a bad thing. Why get a racket where the thing is does best is already something I get enough of? So in lieu of a racket that generates more spin for me, I want a racket that is going to let me generate more of what I want, whether it be spin or power, on my own. Thus, I got the APD.
Hope this helps. Keep us updated!
PS. I hope the 99S isn't too great because my game will be meaningless. People who hit flat and hard will have just as much topspin as I do.
the initials say EHM.
Picture is big so here's the link! Strung with RPM Blast @ 55lbs.
I actually went to my tennis pro shop in my club and i just got to see the new APD and it really does look nice in person
too bad the last i played, the court was wet so I didn't get a chance to hit with it :-(
I'm rained out right now too...It's supposed to be dry tomorrow though.
Why buy? They had it right at first generation, then broke it down just to repair what they broke. You make the 2nd gen unstable and hollow, then you trick people into thinking that's a problem with the racquet and not something you created and then you make money on all these generations and "fixes" after that. That's sad and pathetic, same with Wilson and what they did with the BLX crap and Ampifeel.
Find me a 1st gen APD in good condition for under $200 and I would love to buy it lol. I'm sorry that you miss the good ol' days but the racket feels great and I play great with it.
i wouldn't even consider the 1st gen APD for less because chances are it could be a fake. Just get the latest one from TW and you know it's the real thing.
I completely agree. I have two originals and one gt. I can't the originals down. I recently purchased the 2013 and to me it plays differently than the other aeropros. The new one swings faster and has less mass in the hoop. It seems to not hit as heavy of a ball as the original or the gt model. The most noticeable difference for me with the 2013 is the lack of plow through.
They look the same length.
Great quality control, Babolat.
Wow. Such praise for the APD Original and not so much enthusiasm for the new APD.
 Hmm, maybe I need to rethink the notion I had of maybe selling one of my Originals and hang on to them at all costs!
