I am part of the league machine now. Wasn't quite yet when I posted earlier. Was still hunting a place to play.

(Or were you referring to rating? That's not what the computer says....)

Oh, and if I have anything to say about it, I'll be a fixture in the league machine in Snow Hill until I die on court.

I played high school tennis in the same conference as Greene Central H.S. in Snow Hill. Is Donald Clark still coaching there?

When I graduated and moved away they were just starting work on a tennis center near the high school. I'm sure they've finished that by now.

I'm a 3.0 in Greensboro, NC. And if you are looking for players then we have almost 70 NC players wanting to play signed up and looking for tennis partners at www.TennisPulse.org. Most around Greensboro and High Point, but there are others some in Asheville, RDU, and Wilmington.

Looks like there a quite a few from NC on these forums. Thats great.

I loved Donald Clark! My high school team would always play in his pre-season tournament that he set up for the schools. I also always played in his junior tournaments.

I'm interested to know if he's still coaching there also. I played a tournament 2 summers ago in Snow Hill and he was still running things.

Any of you guys playing Goldsboro this weekend?

It's seems like an awfully small tourney but I'll play wherever I can.

I was going to play 4.5 doubles with a friend of mine from ECU but there weren't enough sign ups to drive to Goldsboro.

Ash, this is Steve D. Congrats on your win over Tim. I understand that was quite a match... If you don't get bumped this year, there will be plently of spots at Greene Ridge, I predict a USTA bumpfest.....

I live in fayetteville. New to the area. Looking for someone to hit with. I'm a 3.0 or a 3.5. Would like to hit with someone at least as good as me but would really like to hit with someone better than me.

I'm a 27 year old Dukie in Durham who's been out of the game for 5-6 years. I played tons of junior and high school tennis, and was rated 5.0 when I was recruited by some not bad D3 programs for college. Instead, though, I decided to quit and focus on school.

To make a long story short, I'm dying to start playing competitively again. Does anyone happen to know of any USTA League teams in the Durham area or if there are tournaments held frequently around here? If anyone has any info or knows the "right" people to get in touch with, I'd really appreciate any leads. I used to be a 5.0 but I have no idea what my level has slipped to after so much time off!

I don't know a whole lot about USTA Leagues, but I'd like to start playing seriously again and somehow get a ranking for my age group/region/NTRP rating (however it works).

Additionally, it would be great to meet up and hit with anyone in the Triangle so I can get my game back. Feel free to get in touch at jei4 (at) duke.edu

Durham has a full USTA League Schedule. There's a USTA tournament in Durham in two weeks, and one in Cary the weekend after that. Next month there's a tournament in Raleigh.

    I'll drop you an e-mail.

Not a lot of people in Eastern NC, eh?

I live in Jacksonville, NC and looking for some people to play around here which is about an hour from Wilmington or Fayetteville; not too far for me to drive to either to play. I'm about a 3.5 I guess. Never been rated, but I keep up ok hitting with my usual partner who's a 5.0. Serving is my big shortcoming. Feel free to e-mail at jgosney@live.com if you're interested.

There are two great groups in the Raleigh-Durham area to play with. One is actually sponsored by Prince tennis. Try tennis.meetup.com/254 and email Jeff. This is a tennis singles league AND there is a seperate social group too.

    Traveling to Charlotte

I will be in Charlotte on the 8th all day with nothing to do. Does anyone want to play tennis? Are there any racquet clubs anywhere near Concord? I'm a 4.0 dubs and 3.5 singles player.

Hey, Duke. The USTA Flex League is not registering for the upcoming Durham league. There are singles divisions for 3.0-4.5 level players. Go to www.ustaflexleagues.com for more information.
