Since there's a thread about who lives in North Carolina, figured I'd start one about wondering how many posters live in Sorth Carolina? I live in the Charleston area.

Tell your rating as well. I am 3.5/4.0 male

    Hey Robby.

You talk to GC much since he moved? Looks like mixed didn't treat him well but had a win in their first 7.5 match.

Sectionals was ok. Too bad your brother couldn't play...

GC signed up for an Independent team here in town even though he is living in Summerville. So he must be planning to visit his family here often this Fall.
My brother is still bummed about being DQ'd and missing sectionals. His team broke up their #1 Dbls team to have another singles player, and their regular #2 singles had to return for work the 3rd day. And the teams they played all had young, quick kids for singles. They did have fun and took confidence that they competed well with barely half of their team that started the year.
    Update on me:
I hurt my forearm near my elbow on the inside part of the arm playing my last two 8.0 MXD matches. I've taken off 2 weeks, but not much improvement.
I have 7.0 Mixed State in Sept. down your way. I'm trying to be careful so I'm able to go.
I have a 7.5 Combo match next Thursday. We'll see how it goes.

2-0 on the comeback trail. Last Thursday's 7.5 was 6-1,6-1.
Tonight my partner and I stole one in 6.5 action. Lost 1st set after being up 5-2; served for it twice.
Down 5-2 in 2nd. Forced TB and won it 9-7 to force 3rd set TB. Won it 11-9. I'm playing with a younger quick 3.0 partner who has solid strokes, but is still learning good Dbls strategy. Hopefully tonight will boost his confidence.
We swept Union. Vizsla, Tommy was still gloating about taking out your undefeated youngster at 3.5 state. We swept all 3 matches in 3rd set TB for each match. Not playing again till Sunday.

Anybody playing Mixed State this weekend?
My 7.5 team is going. We got a good draw. Didn't get Col, Lex, or Charleston in our RR group. See ya there.

I read the draw. We would play Charleston in the semi's if we can get out of our group. I'm guessing Vizsla's mixed team will be as strong as his Adult Spring teams were.
    Can you say 3peat?
    Hope our teams meet.

    Robby, Robby, Robby...

I must take the fifth on that one. Especially since I am not the capt of this team. But I do have a 7.5 combo team lurking in the wings...

Didn't make it out of our group. Saved my worst return of serve performance of this year for my match with Hilton Head. My partner played well throughout. Ended up 2-1. Team was also 2-1. Sorry we won't meet Vizsla.
Charleston Tennis Center was a nice place to play, and Moultrie Park was in a beautiful setting surrounded by classic Charleston homes and by a lake.
My team rented a house on Folly Beach. Had a wide front porch with rocking chairs facing the Atlantic Ocean. Peaceful.

Yup, Greenville. 3.5, should be a 4.0. Avoided the bump somehow, one last year @ 3.5 I guess.

Hey everyone, my parents live to Charleston, SC. I am going to visit them for a month for Christmas break, I am a 4.0 male player looking for some people to hit with.

If no one can hit, is there anyone who would know the best club I should try to get a temporary membership at to get some tennis in while i'm in SC?

I forget to check the boards, if you are interested or can give me any information could you please email me at adams1e@cmich.edu

^ Lot's of public courts and active players in and around Chaz. Just find the nearest courts of Google or such and stop by and chat with the staff for sign-up sheets and the like. Enjoy your winter break!

Saw in the latest Tennis magazine that SC has a good number of highly rated tennis resorts. Thinking about taking a trip next year to a resort either out west, in florida, or SC. For those from SC, any insight/recommendations relating to the tennis resorts in your state? Best? Worst? Etc...

Definitely check out Hilton Head if it is a tennis-centric vacate!

I like Palmetto Dunes, but there are at least three or four tennis oriented resorts in Hilton Head.

Vandermeer, Sea Pines, and Palmetto Dunes are the three main ones I think.

I live in Rock Hill (4.0 moving to 4.5 next year).

I am a huge Palmetto Dunes fan if you go to Hilton Head. Do the 9AM clinic every day that you can. The pros have ball machines that feed for them & they talk you through the drills & really coach your strokes. Best clinics I have ever attended.

If you are looking to meet guys to hit with in Mt Pleasant and Charleston, go to Tour Tennis on Long Point Road. 598 Belle Station Blvd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464

If you google tourtennis, you will likely find their website. ;)

They are located in the shopping center behind Sonic Drive In, and they have a pyramid single's ladder posted on their website. Several Ladders including Open Division, Div I (4.0 and up) and Div II (3.5 and lower), and Senior for both men and women.

You can get on their mailing list and probably join the ladder as a last minute addition (June is the last month) before the ladder transforms in a tournament, with seeds coming from the top guys on the ladder.

Great store with great team working in there.

I've been in a few times, agree, great store and staff. I'll check out the ladder. For now I've been playing with the wife a few hrs a day and doing some neighborhood doubles. I signed up for the summer flex league too to get some experience.

The Summer Flex league is expensive compared to the TT Ladder. Their ladders run for 16 weeks then transform into a tournament. The last flex league I played gave me 5 matches for $25 vs the chance to play 16 matches for the same price.
