Rafaello, I have been playing tennis for a really long time. I learned on wood and my first holygrail was a wilson T-2000. So through the years I have bought alot of racquets and never sell them. Right now I am playing with a Babolat but Ive played with just about every company. The only company that I really dont like is Prince, I have heard some good things about some of there newer stuff so I might give them another try one day.

No fav brand. Just rackets I like.

    PK Redondo Mid
    Dunlop Revelation Tour 90
    Volkl T10VE Mid
    Wilson PS Tour 90
    Wilson Sting SC 85

Just to name a few that I use most. OK, the rest are collectibles and many brand new.

I'm waiting for the Redondo to go "out dated" for the price to drop. Then I'll grap a few more. I'll probably have a very long wait.

I find it hard to believ that people here would play with more than 7 racquets. 3-4 sounds reasonable ...

I'm still trying to find something that's more like my beloved Wilson ProStaff Tour Classic 6.6 85sq. in. I had two, and the one that survived longest finally broke last summer. I'd had it for about a decade, and I'm stilled bummed about breaking them.

I honestly don't like the feel of any racquet these days, though the 300G is a particularly big change. I only bought 'em because they were cheap.

Yeah, I know guys that own over 50 racquets. Some people like to change their shirts everyday while some others like to change their racquets.

As someone already said, "Variety is the spice of life". :D

Is everyone here a collector or something?? I mean, look at all the different racquets people have. It's incredible.

I'm curious why people would spend their money on 5 or 6 DIFFERENT racquets? Once you find one that you like (presumably through demos), don't you just stick with that one racquet?

My game would be absolutely horrible if I switched racquets all the time. I can't imagine using more than one kind. If one's better than another, then make the switch. But then stick with that one.

After all, I don't see the pros walking into a match with 5 or 6 different styles of racquets in their bags. What's the point?

Tennis is about tweaking little things to get some improvement out of your game. It could be another racket, a lighter pair of shoes, a slightly different swing.... you don't know till you try it. What's the harm in that?

    1) Maruman something or rather which is now in the shed somewhere
    2) Dunlop Max 200G - 'ol faithful' which has recently cracked. John and Steffi's stick
    3) Prince CTS Synergy MP - which I am using temporarily until i get my new racquet (hand me down from mum)
    4) Waiting for my WIlson Ncode 6196 team to arrive
    5) Wanting to buy a Babolat Roddick as well
    6) Waiting to demo the Redondo, RDX500 and Dunlop Mfil 200 and 300

I thought I was bad when I felt like buying more than one racquet, but thanks ! I feel a lot better now

But we're not pros. Most pros are also sponsored by a specific racquet company and are marketed to use a specific model. I don't think Wilson would be too happy to see Federer switch to a nBlade in the middle of his match, let alone a FXP Prestige, a RDS 001 Mid, or an O3 Tour.

I've found that certain racquets work better for certain situations, against certain opponents, on certain days, etc. In fact, I've seen guys switch to different model racquets in between each point, and then back again.

BreakPoint has truly hit the nail on the head.

I didn't want to go down this road but I started noticing subtle differences in playing with different sticks on different days/opponents/environments.

I am starting to think this is getting more like golf every day with different clubs. Or at least like a performance race car always making tweaks to adjust for conditions.

Nothing beats my Wilson SurgeX for doubles play.

When I am feeling tired or getting warmed up I use my nBlade. It's nice and light and gets my arm in motion. I can't use this against heavy hitters cause I don't like the feel of this racket with too much lead, so l leave it nearly stock. The topspin on it sits up too much.

For singles matches I go to my regular Wilson Rok which I have leaded up. Actually I am still experimenting between the Rok and my PS 6.0 85. For certain opponents the topspin still sits up with the 85, for others it knocks them over! Still figuring out which is which. And with the Rok I can penetrate the court more easily.

Mind you, I am a topspinner so I am looking for spin that bites the court without giving my arm too much fatigue since I am still recovering from shoulder surgery (11 mos. out).

    my collection:
    non-use:
    2x Wilson Ultra2
    1x Wilson Triad 6.0 PS
    1x Wilson PS 6.0 95

    use:
    2x Wilson ROK
    2x Wilson PS 6.0 85
    1x Wilson SurgeX
    1x Wilson nBlade

all with 4 5/8" grip except Ultra2 and with various Tecnifibre strings.

    2 BreakPoint & DURICA533,

It's a good point. Sometimes you just feel too tired to play with a demanding racquet (like nCode Tour 90) and want to slip into something more comfortable (like Head FXP Radical MP in my case).

Definitely not a good idea only having one racquet if you play a lot. Just gotta wait a couple Fridays so I can get a paycheck and waste it on a new racquet :)

I may end up with a combination of some people's advise here. 2 racquets of the same time for "real play," heavier, a little more demanding. Gotta have a backup in case of broken strings. And then another lighter one for when I'm messing around with friends or something like that. Sounds good to me.
