    According to http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/14518:
I googled some more and found some numbers for Wimbledon and the US Open, for Wimbledon it's around 42'000 and for the US Open 60'000!

What do they do with them all?

They used to sell them to patrons but I haven't seen that in years. They also give you one free if you order $50 merchandise online.

Do they get sold to tennis coaches?

At the Australian Open they give them away free to the local tennis clubs who in turn sell them to the members for $0.50 each.

Well I'm in a Sydney tennis club and I've never seen this offer.
