    As a civilization, yes. But I suspect they got incorporated into other tribes. I mean, they were basically the same people. But point well taken.

    Errr yea there most certainly was. As both an ethnic group and various Mayan city states, they still were around when the Spanish came around the 1530s. There was just no organized and centralized Maya authority by the time Conquistadores came around
