How much do strings add to swingweight?

    Hi,

I don't have any device for measuring swingweight so I was just wondering if there was some sort of approximate guide for finding out how much a set of average strings would add to the unstrung swingweight of a racket?

For example, I have a racket that has an unstrung swingweight of 300 but I know it has a swingweight of 330, so can I make the bold assumption that strings add about 30 to the swingweight?

    Many thanks

I've heard 25-30 so 30 is about right as a general rule.

i use an approximate of 15 gr. as string weight. i do notice that poly is heavier than gut.
there was a thread on this somewhere.
    hope this helps.

Thanks, it seems from some research I had done that it was around that figure, but I wasn't sure if it was coincidence rather than a common rule of thumb.

    Many thanks

Yes, thats the rule I use when working out an unstrung rackets' strung weight that affects overall static weight, but I think this basic rule on swingweight seems to be 30.

    Cheers
