How much weight do you think the pros can lift? I feel like tsonga would be able to lift more than everyone else. But I don't feel like Federer could lift that much: his right forearm is huge but his elbow is bigger than his tricep.

Heres my list for the top 10 players and most wieght they can lift with their upper body:

    1. Tsonga
    2. Verdasco
    3. Nadal
    4. Roddick
    5. Del po
    6. murray
    7. Djoker
    8. Soderling
    9. Federer
    10. Davydenko

Dead lift? Squat? Bench? Curl? I would think the type of lift might make a difference.

    Nadal third? :):)

Nadal isn't even in the top 5 regarding this. I can give you many more guys who have way more upper body stregth and are more developed: verdasco, soderling, tursunov, andreev, murray, monfils and many others.

Nadal is a guy with average shoulders,a really big bicep and flat chest. His upper body physique as a whole wouldn't stand out in a crowd if you didn't know who he was.

Delpo is a tall guy, but his arms look like twigs in those sleeveless shirts, no way his in the top 5.....

    Top 10 only

    1. Tsonga
    2. Soderling
    3. Verdasco
    4. Murray
    5. Roddick
    6. Del Potro
    7. Nadal
    8. Federer
    9. Davydenko
    10. Djokovic

Del Potro is big, but not particularly developed. Nadal has a big left bicep, but nothing else. In contrast, Tsonga Soderling Murray and Roddick all have very well developed upper bodies. Davydenko actually does as well, but I think he is too small to be up there.

I don't think Del Potro is that muscular. Most of his power comes from timing and his legs.

His legs are really skinny too. I think its more that his height allows him to hit the ball much flatter than most people because he can hit in a downward trajectory. That helps with the power. Although he is obviously strong, just because he is so big.

In Roger's book, earlier in his career, Paganini got him to a point where he could press either 100kg or 120 kg, can't remember.

I'm not sure exactly what exercise Paganini is referring to, but i'm guessing he's referring to Bench pressing.

It wouldnt be suprised if he could. Roger may have some breadstick arms, but he seems to have a pretty wide upper body and broad shoulders. He only appears weak when you catch a glimpse of his left arm

Roddick/Nadal (The roddick from a year or two ago was much bigger and more muscular. linebackerish)
    Roddick/Nadal
    Soderling
    Murray
    Federer
    Delpo
    Djokovic
    Davydenko

All of them can probably lift a lot more than we think they can. Davydenko looks scrawny and so does joker but they are a lot bigger in person.

I would be shocked if Fed could bench 250lb. Absolutely stunned. I know for a fact that during his USO run a few years back Ginnepri was benching around 185 (12 reps I think) when he weighed 175. And Neps is way more built than Fed.

Being built has some correlation, but not totally. I'm bigger than my friend but he can bench much more than me.
