I have a friend that sells soccer shirts for $50 a piece. The few that I've seen and touched are of really good quality, but some friends who bought them say they're really good copies. I'm no stranger to soccer shirts, as I own over 40 different original (as in bought at the team's store) shirts and jackets. Any tips?

Hot Tip: If you buy it at the team's store, you can be pretty sure it's original.

I'm not buying at the store. As I previously mentioned, I have a friend who sells them, not the store.

Usually stitching and detailing are the telltale signs. If the stitching looks unprofessional or cheaply done, or the details seem "off", it's likely a copy.

If the team's name is misspelled, that could indicate a problem

Well, I made a search and found that Real Madrid's CL shirt (red one) is made in Vietnam. If the shirt does not come from Vietnam, I will not buy it.

    How would you know?
Chinese can easily make a "made in vietnam" tag.

Have you considered asking your "friend" where he gets them?? Shouldn't be terribly difficult to trace this back, if it matters so much to you.

Look at the label. If it says Made in China or some Asian country, it is legit. If it says Made in USA, it is counterfeit.

The retail price at soccer.com is $75. My friend has them for $55.

Well thats a respectable price. If he was sellin them for 20 bucks then you would know they are fake.

    Still might be though.

When I see someone wearing a Rolex, I'll ask to see it close up, point to a little something or other on the dial and say "this is how you can spot the fakes, they all have this little thing on the dial." Drives them crazy!
