I've only ever seen it done by pre-weaving. I don't see the advantage in it. You may want to ask him how he had it done. If he doesn't know, I'd say go ahead and do it normally.

    I'm jealous... :( I wish I had a badminton racquet to string.

    i'd do it normally just manually write down the patters like M M M M M M C C M S C M etc as in main... cross .. shared hole
    and need clamps and stuff.

Badminton rqts aren't that bad, just a bit more fiddly. You also have to be careful with any awls, and you must check the grommets as the slightest nick will snap the string.

The normal stringing pattern is 22m by 23x, although you can sometimes do from the 7thhole at the top and the 8th hole at the bottom for the crosses.

Easiest way to string the rqts is 2 piece. You'll need about 16.5ft for each length. String the mains as you'd do any rqt, alternating the mains as appropriate, but best not to do more than 3 on each side especially if you string tight. The crosses are the same except that you'll share a fair few holes, so take you time and keep the end of the string pointed. Try not to use an awl to aid you with shared holes as the other string in the hole will snap.

Tensions can go from 16lbs to 26 or even 28lbs. If unsure stick to around the 18lbs mark.

    Hope that helps

    Regards

    Paul

I think you can just turn the typical side supports around and put them on the innermost slot.

Possibly not. I can use the same ones I use on tennis rqts for badminton rqts, but sometimes the gap at the throat & head is a little narrower so I have to use slightly round ones. Best to try and see how you get on.
