How to turn the Fed Cup, Davis Cup and Olympics into major events in tennis

Well I've been thinking about how the Davis Cup and Olympics should be amongst the biggest honours in tennis (the Olympics are imo), yet are surpassed by GS (and other events for some). There used to be a time in which players preferred a DC to a slam. I believe that tennis, being a sport in which the men and women are very close (share tournaments) should introduce a world cup (mixing men and women) and host it every 4 years during a 1 month period every 4 years. The Olympics should also copy this format. These 2 prizes would be won by the countries who are the best in tennis all-round.

This is the format:
-16 teams play this WC. Group stages of 4 teams. Only winners progress and KO from there.
-Qualifying throughout the year. The DC/Fed Cup breaks will be replaced by qualification to determine which countries take part. Every 2 years you either have Olympics or World Cup qualification.
-Each contest has 7 matches (2 Men's singles, 2 Women's singles, 1 Men's Doubles, 1 Women's doubles and 1 mixed)
-One player cannot play both singles
-Teams should be made out of 10 players, 5 male and 5 female

The Tennis World Cup shall take place after the WTFs. So the World Cup starts and ends in november. To still give the players a break and not to exhaust them, World Cup years require only 7/9 participations of the M1000s. So do Olympic years. In these years Montreal and Cinci are played 2 weeks after Wimbledon and the general calender is also pushed back 1 week. The USO starts 2 week after the Olympics and ends before the end of October. Tournies after USO are pushed forward by 2 weeks.

Let me know if this would help the sport or is stupendous, I for one would love this to happen. Discuss.

Not going to happen. The Davis Cup is too much like a women' soap opera - it doesn't end. And red card for the ITF for using it as an extortion racket for players to be eligible for the Olympics. And the Olympics don't fit in an already crowded summer schedule.

I feel really bad for Canadian fans who saved up to see a great event in TO - look what they're getting.
