I used to play with the Fischer Vacuum Pro 98 (reddish burgundy color) from about 1997. I think this was Kafelnikov's frame at one point.

Anyone know exactly what he used? How was it set up? weight? balance? string? etc.

Thanks... id like to give the frames one more try before moving on to an easier playing frame as im not playing 5x a week the way i used to.

as far as i know, he used the (real) vacuum pro 98 until he retired. dont know his setup other than to say that the rec tension of this frame was 54-56lbs. and it didnt play well outside of this narrow range. he had the butt cap humungously built up like a hockey stick from his early days as a hockey player

are we talking about the Vacuum pro with a variable width beam?

This frame is different from the intial contant width narrow beam Fischer VT that was blueish-purple in color. right?

The VTPro98 does have a variable beam identical to the Pro1 and it was also Bluish Purple for a time. It is an entirely diff frame than the VTPro90 which is the Stich frame (and others)

Correct: he used a VT98 Pro which had the 25-23-21 mm 'power feel' tapered beam
