I would actually prefer that all tournaments - not just the slams - make seeding adjustments based on the surface and not be slave to the rankings. But it has to be applied to all players, if RG tweaks seeds to help Nadal and *only* Nadal there would be protests from the other players, similar to 1996 USO, US players and Kafelnikov dropping out.

That's why I don't think they will change anything. Rafa #5.

But Wimbledon adjust the seedings based on previous grass results. Roland Garros whereas goes by the rankings. Roland Garros has no reason to give Nadal the 4th seed if he's ranked 5th. Plus I think the organizers would like a blockbuster QF, and Nadal being seeded 5th will give them that. I would like it too.

no chance in hell. it would be extremely unfair to ferrer to rob him of his seeding like that(remember, it's not his fault Nadal didn't play for almost a year)
also if that were the case they could just as well give Nadal #1 seed until till he retires. it would be just as fair.

If a 52-1 event record doesn't make a player a special case I really do not know what does. Not to mention the titles at MC... If Gasquet has a good clay tune up, bump him up.

RG is choosing to go by the rankings, why work when you don't need to bother? Reasons aplenty - Most successful male RG player in open era, five final wins over Federer, never lost to Murray on clay, hasn't lost since 2003 against Ferrer/clay......

Missed anyone stating it was Ferrer's fault. Berdych robbed him of his seeding Wim'12 btw.
