He looks bald and looks like a 10 yr old trying to be federer for the halloween. he has some good aspect and some weak ones. i think his volley is reasonably good

I imagine that he will be quite good if he continues to have this much dedication to the sport for another 8-10 years.

Hopefully he can get some top flight coaching to help him understand what is style, and what is substance.

For right now, I wish him the best of luck, and hope he does well in his tournaments if he plays any.

3.5 max. The only thing similar between him and Federer is that they're both humans.

3.5-4.0 looking but since you cant really see the quality of the balls he is hitting its all a guess. It's actually scary how much he imitates fed but his footwork looks pretty solid and his bh seems alright but a bit kinky at times, his fh looks all over the place loopy with an inconsistent follow through sometimes and sometimes flatter where he rolls over the ball mid stroke. Not to mention that his hitting partner seems to be hitting him rally balls and he seems to be trying to up his pace for the camera.

actually I just watched it again and now say at best 3.5 most likely. 4.0 is a stretch I think.

His serve has some obvious flaws -- you can tell just from the followthrough. And by that, I mean that it isn't there.

If you want to see a good Fed impression, you should search through the Tips forums for a bit -- there was someone who had him down to a T

Looks like the kid's a 3.0 or there abouts.

Yeah looks like a Fed wannabe but at least he's doing pretty ok with his 1hbh. If I had to guess, the frame's too heavy for him as he doesn't seem to be able to swing it that well however, the fact he takes the ball really early is very good.

His footwork is pretty good too as he seems to pivot well on the balls of his feet. He needs to split step more and to stay on his toes more as in many of his shots he seems to be rather flat footed.

His serves need more punch as they look like dinks shots.

Give the man a lighter racquet and he'll do better. For now the guy seems to be at least a 3.0.

Man...he must love Fed to death. I also think his 1hbh looks pretty good for his level. His loopy fh looks very very inconsistent. Footworks are great for his level, IMO.

I would say he is around 3.5.

The kid need to look to the substance of Federer's game and address serious footwork problems - no jump step, big lunging steps, weight back on his heels, etc

He says he is 22 years old in his profile though he looks younger.

I can't give him a rating other than he is not advanced 4.5+.

This guy lives in a deluded world, it's actually scary.

As for rating purposes, he'd be a solid 3.0 with maybe some 3.5 traits at best. His movement doesn't seem too good either, he seems to get to many balls in a hurry and hits them not prepared. He has no body rotation on his forehand whatsoever, he just throws his arm. Backhand too. Serve looks really bad and ineffective, possible footfaults maybe.

But people really should film themselves from behind from a good angle to see the whole picture, we have no idea how fast, short or deep those shots are going, so giving a definite rating from this perspective only isn't possible.

On another note, some finishing stances and such, looked pretty g@y lol

This is someone doing an impression. The impression is way too distracting to even look at the guy as a tennis player, in my opinion. He is probably too concerned with aesthetics to really get a feel for his mistakes. I've been guilty of this too.

But the whole Federer thing is too much. This guy needs his own style.

Wow, harsh stuff as usual. I wonder if we would be seeing as many 3.0 ratings if he wasn't dressed so silly?

I actually like his game. Pretty clean hitting most of the time, with decent stick speed. He stays nice and low, again, most of the time. Likes to come in. First serve is decent, but second is a lollipop. He stays pretty far back and the footwork is kinda lazy.

All in all, I think he has the athleticism to be pretty good. A year with some good coaching to grind out the rough edges could do wonders. He has more upside than most of the vids I see out here. He has some tools, now he needs to learn how to use them.

BTW, I not saying he is better than 3.0, only match play will tell us what his NTRP should be, but around here 3.0s and even a lot of 3.5 are still poking the ball and pancaking their serve. His STROKES are better than that, but strokes are just strokes, and not the complete game.

Hmmpft....I don't care, I really like his backhand. I would love to see some of the harsh critics on this kid post up some backhands to match. And no, that isn't me, hehee.

He doesn't look like any 3.0's I have ever seen. But you know...looks can be decieving.

    LMAO.....owned hahaha.

The guy even gets the same haircut as Federer..pretty shocking. There are some major flaws in his technique though....Firstly he has no knee bend on his groundstrokes and does not rotate his upper trunk on his forehand rather seem to be 'arming' the ball.

He's trying so hard to concentrate on the little Federer movements like the ball bounce before serve etc.

What gets me is how he copies the wrist bend in his forehand follow through, and the upright finish of his topspin backhands. It's like he's studied youtube videos and still images to get the poses just right.

One thing's for sure, I know I wouldn't have balls enough to walk into a tennis club dressed like that.

I guess if you're gonna pick a player to pattern your game after, Federer's a great choice, but there's gotta be a line between player emulation and forcing a facsimile of that player into your body.

3.5 ~ 4.0. Ratings and forms can be deceiving. Some 3.5 hit a mean ball but has no consistency in a match. Some pushers have no forms but can outlast a 4.0.

I think he is a 4.5 player. His forehand and backhand is good, but he needs to follow-through more on his serve. He needs to bring his racket across the left side of his left leg.

Wow. If this "person" is getting rated 3.5 on average in this thread, then I have just gained a HUGE reason to feel a little more confident about my game.
My on court mental game just got a +5.

This guy have very good imitation. The backhand has potential. I dont know as an overall player though. But if he plays seriously rather than playing imitation, then he could get better.

if he wasn't a kid, he would **** me off.
when people try to copy pros, they don't realize that pros don't "pose." the way they look when they hit a stroke (before, during, after) is how they naturally end up. this kid is trying to FORCE a federer pose which is why he looks awkward and retarded. and he does a terrrrible impression of federer. horrible.

and, it doesn't seem like he's a kid (i.e., early teenager). so, i'm pissed at him.
