Yeah, I think you're wrong on the Sampras/Edberg comments. Both used their 85s for the duration. Even when Edberg endorsed the 6.1 he still used his 85 but painted like it so far as I recall.

On occasion you can even find a PS85 with that paint-job.

So far as Lendl using a larger headsize GTX Mid at Wimbledon I think that may also have been a paint-job. Someone on the board here a while back owned a pile of Lendl frames and posted pics of the showing the various paint-jobs he went through.

Yes,.... a 60 page thread and, as yet, nothing more than could be said by simply fabricating something a rep supposedly said.

Once again, reps know squat other than what they need to do their job which is selling frames.

Well here's one article which states that Lendl's racquet was more than just a pj...

    http://80s-tennis.com/pages/ivan-lendl.html

Also, from memory, I remember the commentators on tv mentioning him using a bigger headed racquet . This was only for grass courts though (as the above article states).

After this week in London, I don't imagine Roger is looking to change his racquet.

I think he is already ahead of what is currently available on the market. Meaning, he is propably now using the new Pro Staff with a BLX paintjob. Nice marketing trick from Wilson.:)

He's probably using the same frame since the Pro Staff Tour 90 came out many years back.. but probably the same custom composite along with a few slight changes in size/weight/balance.

Thanks for the headsup! Checking out the 95 right now. Specs aren't listed when viewing it individually, but this part is in the description on the Wilson page

Strung weight: 326g. Swingweight: 306 RDC. Flex: 62 RA.

So you think he changed mid-year? Seriously?

    Much more likely.

    +1.

Can anyone confirm with certainty if the beam width on the Six One Tour 90 is 17mm or 17.5mm. I'm hoping its 17mm or thinner.

It feels great in play. Are the current BLX models 18mm? I ask because the new frame feels more 'whippy'. ;) BHBH

I predict this raquet will have a massive impact on how the game is played and taught.

The feel of the Basalt in the handle is simply astonishing.

Babilat will most likely try to duplicate with a Cortext shank fusionary process.

    Holler,

You said the Pro Staff Six One 100 is a junior racquet maybe does that mean its bad in your opinion? I would like to hear what you think as I want to demo it but I am quite hesitant.

    Thanks

Thought this might be an awesome time to remind the author of this thread that Federer is still using the same frame.

    Darn huh.

About this post, I just weighted the stock grip on the wilson psblx95 and it was around 18g and the 2 leather grips i have, 1 wilson (20g) and 1 fairway (23g)... is my scale off or something? because the diff between stock and leather is nowhere near those 10g here :S

Another bump to see if Zapvor's mythical Wilson rep feels suitably like a dunce yet? It's been almost two years now.

Doesn't older players usually go to bigger head ?? isn't that the normal course of evolution ?

No, your scale is OK. When I wrote that post I didn't know how much the stock grip on the PSBLX95 weighs. It's heavier than most synthetic base grips, as you found.

It would work. For knowledgeable TW posters, it might not fool anyone, but if the point of a PJ is to get people to buy the product based on who is using it and what it looks like, plenty of players/fans won't care. And, it really helps when a company paints all the frames in a particular line basically the same. Thus, a player can appear to have the same frame as whomever, even if they don't.

I think he's gonna play a lot better after the switch, since he's been framing some time with his backhand. Thanks for the info.

Hey he beat Sampras with it, might as well satisfy the old school tennis fans. :)

Never know, he might actually pay more attention and practice more with a 85 prostaff.

85, 95, 88 or 98. What the heck, at this stage, there's not much to lose by going back to the PS 85.
