Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour 16 vs Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power Rough 16L String. Which string lasts longer? which one is more preferable for a 4.5 NTRP player? Thanks!

the best is definitely the luxilon.. but both go dead pretty fast. both are rough in texture as well

I find that the Luxilon stays playable and "zippy" a little longer, but the PHT takes slightly longer to break (but not that much).

As for preferability, level matters less than style of game. If you're a fast-swinging topspin player, either will do. If you're not, both will likely be less than optimal.

The main difference seems to be that the Lux has slightly more pop, and the PHT is a little more rigid and slightly deader.

everyone is different and it can depend on your racket too.
    Im also a 4.5, heavy topspin, 1HBH.
I much prefer PHT, I play at least 4 times a week and my PHT certainly drops off after 2 weeks, I notice this as my balls start going long. I can pretty much live with this for 2 more weeks until i get them changed.
The Alu Rough I find has little life and no pop, extremely dead string, decent spin, but no where near as much spin as the PHT.
I string mine with x1 biphase so that might make some difference to my opinion???

same here. I don't really care but you'll get a whole hell of a lot more feedback in the strings section. but I would shoot for the Luxilon. I think its twice the string of PHT.

I play with Luxilon ALU all the time during the indoor winter season and can say without a doubt that there is nothing like it on the market, Great pop, excellent spin, strings don't move. PHT is also a good string, but I agree with the above poster that the lux is just so much better. I usually don't wait for it to break. I cut them out after a few weeks because the lose that elasticity pretty quickly. The downside is that it can be a bit pricey and if you keep it strung for a long time it makes the string bed feel very stiff.

I really like BB alu, the problem with Pro Hurricane is that nomatter what, it feels mushy. Nomatter what tension, or even in a hybrid with gut, I've always hated the response. BB alu has a nice crispness to it, and a little ping. But i'll always be a gut guy
