    Hi guys,

I am exploring different hybrid combi and was speaking to a pro stringer in my area. My current set up is VS gut Mains @ 55/ Alu Rough crosses @ 53 on my PC600
Since I had pretty much decided I should stick to nat gut in the mains.. my issue was what string for the crosses.
The Pro suggested using a slippery poly so the main guts would snap back easily, and also to avoid any irregular shaped polys to prevent unnecessary stress on the gut - this I agree
But next he went on to suggest that I should really drop my poly tension to mid-low 40lbs
This second part I am still trying to digest... wouldnt such a huge tensional difference may cause the frame to deform? He sounded really confident and seems to know what he is doing so that makes me even more puzzled.
So how much should the a maximum allowable difference in main/cross be?

Further thinking... Would lowering the tension of the mains to eg 50lbs strung with nat gut makes sense? Will it turn my racquet into a rocket launcher or should the stiff poly crosses keep the power in check

I've never strung anything below 50lbs before, in the past, I have my frames strung at mid to high 50s on multis..... Becos I'm old and I am more comfortable hitting flat shots than topspin ( plays with an eastern grip) so I'm really getting nervous moving the tension southwards and end up with a failed string job
That said, I'm more than willing to try new things too but I need more inputs ... Help guys!

What is your real issue on the court when you hit with your current setup?
    What racquet are you using?

I'm playing with an old Prestige Classic
There isnt any real problem with my current setup, just toying with different combi who knows I might strike gold with more playability, control and spin?
