Is there any advantage in using hybrid tension on a racquet
where the mains and crosses are the same strings?
Or is hybrid tension only for hybrid string setups?

A lot of players do this too actually, if you string the crosses lower than the mains with the same string the mains will slide more. So basically lowering the crosses makes the mains slide for more ball bate and spin on the ball. So if you want a tad more spin using a fell bed lower the crosses tension. e.g. 54/52
