Who would win this matchup? Federer playing alone vs. Martina Navratilova and Lisa Raymond. Fed would be allowed to hit toward the whole doubles court and the 2 ladies could only hit to the singles court. Who would win?

2 ladies have a chance if they can hit to doubles court. No chance if they are only allowed to hit to singles court.

I think Roger can take them with his foot speed plus he can pass easily into the doubles court.

First off, Federer is the man---no argument. Having said that:

These ROGER FEDERER POSTS remind me of those "staged" Hillary Clinton's "Listening Tour" stops. For those outside N.Y., those "listening tour" stops were staged "photo-ops" (replete with conditional, "pre-approved" questions) that masquaraded as some traditional campaign whistle stop--a candidacy that was "incubated" (if you will) by an "accomodating" (adoring) N.Y. press.

In the case of Federer, these "inquiry" posts (these polls), are usually "ROGER BILLBOARDS" or "ALTARS TO ROGER" authored by an adoring Fed-ophile. No problem with that, but they come across as so "loaded" up front. Anyway....what do we have before us here? Roger vs. Martina/Lisa? Ok, in this case, we've got ol' Roger playing against a 86 year old has-been and her doubles partner, a 5 foot nothing-inch weighting 191 pounds. It's obvious:

Federer would win. He'd not only double bagel them (6-0; 6-0), he'd lay a pair of "golden sets" on 'em---they wouldn't/COULDN'T even get a point off his most IMPERIAL GREATNESS. Then, they (the now humbled cows), would slither off the courts, cowering in fear and huddling in shame for the affrontery to have even dared appear on the same court as his ROYAL OTHERWORLDLINESS.

Some other matchups about Roger I constantly dream about:

1.Federer vs. the team of Laver (in his prime) and Sampras (in his prime):
Federer: 6-1; 4-6; 6-1 (the sponsors asked him to "go 3").

    2. Federer vs. the entire Spanish Davis Cup team:
    On Grass Court ---- Federer: 6-0; 6-0; 6-0
    On Hard Court ----- Federer: 6-0; 6-0; 6-0
    On Har-Tru Court -- Federer: 6-0; 6-1; 6-0
On Red Clay Court --Federer: 6-1; 6-0; 6-2
On Red Clay Court vs. Spanish team including Nadal: 8-6; 11-9; 0-6; 6-0
(Susan "Y.C.T.S!" .... I take most major credit cards) ;-)

    3. Federer vs. Federer:
"0-0" (Play suspended because of lighting--both players were incapable of
    making an error)

    4. Federer vs. Andy Roddick and an Andy Roddick clone:
    Federer: 6-0; 6-0; 6-0 (time of match: 26 minutes)

    5. Federer vs. God:
(Match still in progress): 6-6 (30-all).....

Okay, how about these dream matches...

1.Federer vs. Da Bears on a frozen football field. Fed can hit anywhere between the hashmarks, but da Bears are can hit anywhere between the sidelines. Oh yeah, it's snowing sideways. Winner... Da Fed.

    2. Federer vs. Coach Ditka. Federer playing with an ncoded hammer of thor, ditka playing with his member swollen with levitra. Winner...Da Fed.

only polish sausage can defeat the almighty fed

Look, penthouse, Roger has to deal with a constant poacher at the net and Lisa and Martina are a good doubles team. How do you figure it would be that easy for him? Have you ever played 2 on 1 against a good doubles team before? They're not easy to pass.

I don't guess you've ever heard of Australian doubles before? It's one of the oldest drills you can do. I would imagine the drill arose out of necessity when a 4th didn't show up, but it's done all the time. And yes, I have beaten and been beaten in this format.

To think Levitra-boy Mike Ditka was once known as "Iron" Mike and a tight end to boot (to boot!) Irony and futility in one neat little package.

Rickson: For starters, the women better hit 1st serves all day (and as big as they can hit it); Federer "dickdances" on bigger, much bigger serves then that --- imagine Martina "spining" in a 2nd serve, lefthandedness aside. I could see Federer's lips moving as he quietly described the oncoming serves to himself--that is, just before he tinkled on them: "Ah, Cotton Candy!" .... "Oh, and this one's a 'Moon Pie' where's my 'R.C.'?" .... "Yes! My favorites!..Hostess Twinkies!"......."Ummm...Devil Dogs!"

Raymond? Good (little) woman player. Think Federer couldn't first drill a rocket at her feet (off a so-so paced volley) then throw up a "buzz" of a topspin lob? Martina? Nearly 50--mobility? Their mobility is no longer NEAR "cat-like" so Fed doesn't have to RIP a passing shot in the traditional sense. He can play a "2 ball" pass---get them to have to move (lunge) for the 1st shot....and then have a number of options for the 2nd. His serve? Next question. Federer at net: For starters, think Navratilova's "chip" backhand---Federer "split steps" as she hits it, reads "War and Peace" and knocks it off as easy as you can say "Hey Lisa, I think Martini-weanie is scopin' you out...."

"Have you played 2-on-1 against a really good doubles team?" Uh......yeah..................and I might politely suggest that it wasn't against that world beater of world beaters, the infamous "Lou." Ease up there, 3.5.

ty, dedan's, brilliant fare, as usual! ditka for one is definitely "dickdancing" with his "swollen member." all these quotation marks are starting to make me feel like chris farley as bennett braur on snl. you know, the guy who "frightens small children" and "sweats when he sleeps", he doesn't have good "personall hygeine" and doesn't "wear clothes that fit" and "keeps dried up deoderant cakes under his arms for weeks" and..... sorry ' bout that. i say good day to you sirs...

HAHAHAHAHA! So you remember Lou? I beat that clown more times than not when I'm the single and he has a partner. I aim right for him when he comes to net and the ball has spun off his frame more times than he got the ball in play.

Good thing you weren't playing GINO! Gino is the 3.5 or possibly 4.0 (since he is much much better but still hits with RIckson) who allegedly volleys better than Roddick....even though he has never actually played a tournament....

That's almost as silly as the time you thought you could get a game or more against an ATP player.

But I'm going to cut you some slack from now on Rickson because I know you've only been playing tennis about 1 year and I also know you're a little screwed up in real life. We're all doing the best we can I suppose.

I'm going to have to jump in here. Datacipher, the thought that he could get a game from an ATP player is not silly......it's downright ridiculous.

That's odd Rickson because as I recall it was you who started the "What pro could you take a game or more from?" thread.

But the one I'm STILL trying to figure out is the thread you started about "Something you'll never see from the pros": (the complete post)

"I found it interesting that a 1hbh pro never uses the 2hbh, but the 2hbh pros all use the 1hbh slice on occasion. I don't think you'll ever witness Federer or Haas going to a 2hbh."

    AAAAHHHHHH.....logic dissolving....world makes no sense.....!!!!

ROFL. Like I said Rickson I'm gonna take it easy on you. If you think I look like more of an ass than you. So be it. Maybe you're more knowledgable about tennis than me...I'm not gonna argue with you about it.

On a totally unrelated note, in all sincerity I hope you're feeling better these days and on a personal note, if you're still taking antidepressants I encourage you to get off because I've always felt they lead to dependence on them and an overall weird personality over the long term but I"m no expert.
