i dont see that happening, but then again, i didnt see it happening at the 09 french... guess anything is possible. If sod is playing his A++ game, he can take anyone on the dirt, he's proven he can.

Now if only Andy Roddick had the same attitude ... but instead he wants to lose 8 finals to Federer. He's lost 4 times, so 4 to go. I doubt he'll ever fulfill his ambition because to lose 4 more times, he'll have to get to 4 finals!

If only more players had the same mentality as him. Taken out of context his statement seems dumb, but read the whole thing and you might actually admire him.

If the Nadal from MC and Barca shows up, he is up for the taking for many top guys, not just soderling, and especially in two outta three.

Nadal's routine these days seems to be: break-give the break back-break-win a couple of games, have tight finishing games- win set- have seconds set slump - win match.

Many of these gifts(Rafa is making lots more UE this clay season than usual) will not fly in the face of higher ranked players.

Ferru is a fighter but he is very vulnerable on his own service games and Rafa, with his B-,C game bossed him around when Ferru was serving.

A good scenario for Rafa would be to lose in either Rome or Madrid to be extra hungry for Roland Garros.

Too bad Nadal was injured at MC and Barca, else he would not have lost a game.

This is the quote you should have put.

It's one of the reasons Nadal was able to take on Fed in his peak. He had no fear, and while he always said Fed was the greatest ever, it didn't mean he was unbeatable.
Sod said it as it is.
    1) you have to play your best.
    2) you have to have some luck.

Come on man, you know that Ralphtardians are spotty readers. You cannot get one of them to read something from soup to nuts. And that is only the fans that are literate.

I dont begrude him at all for believing in himself. A top 5 player who has made slam finals and beaten Federer and Nadal in a slam should believe he can do it. That said no way in hell does he ever do it again. Personally I think his best days are already past him, and he will go downhill from here.

Isn't Murray also a top 5 player who has at least beaten Nadal in slams numerous times.

It's the same attitude that players have adopted against Federer. I believe him when he says he can beat Nadal again. It's just that the odds are not regularly in his favor.

I think Sod will beat Nadal at FO this year. Hell, even Murray got an easy set of Nadal on clay and then only lost because of elbow problems.

What the one in which you immediately turn it into how Ralph has beaten Fed? Oh, ok.

Don't really see any big improvement in his game.

Sure like he says with his best tennis and some luck he can win, but yeah 1 in 100 vs. nadal sounds right for his chances :), and then don't forget he has to get to nadal as well. :)

well he did it once...but he'd need to play 100% the entire match, and the conditions would have to be just right like last year vs fed and in 09 when he bet rafa.

More proof of selective reading and deep set insecurity. Find me other examples of currently active players who needed to use that mentality. I only stated a fact. Not just against Fed, when Nadal was climbing the ranks, he was intimidated by no one. He had and still has immense respect, but he believed he could win. This coupled with the fact that he had the game to do it, allowed him to win. If you are in the top 10 you are capable of beating anyone, you've just got to believe. That is all Soderling is saying, and I respect that.

It should read... "I can beat Nadal again... if he's injured and playing at far less than his ability"

    Otherwise, it ain't happening :)

It would be exciting :) although at the end of the day what are djoker's chances of beating nadal h-h on clay, maybe like 15%(?), so not super duper exciting.

Nadal only loses when he's injured. Nadal is only injured when he loses.

In other news, the sky is blue and grass is green.

Haters can think what ever they want Nadal didn't lose in gs level when he is fit since he lost to Tsonga 2008 AO semi, since then injuries and then some personal problems are his biggest rival.

There have been many times Nadal has lost uninjured... but 2009 RG wasn't one of them. Even with two badly injured knees, it took Soderling 4 sets and 2 TB's to defeat Nadal that day. A healthy Nadal showed us how he fares against Soderling in the 2010 RG final (Nadal d. Soderling 6-4, 6-2, 6-4).

Instead of simply parroting some Nadal-hating trolls on TT, think it through critically.

Soderling didn't play well in the RG final, and Nadal played great of course. Either way, Soderling has shown he has the game to beat Nadal on clay, healthy or non healthy. Of course it's gonna take luck for anyone to beat Nadal on clay, but if Nadal's level drops and Sod puts in another godlike performance like he had at RG 09 and last yr vs Fed, he can beat him.

And the 2nd part of your post - aren't you the guy that was claiming Nadal was hurt last year vs Gulbis in Rome, without any evidence that he actually was? So yeah, of course that's the party line for you guys.

I talk about Roddick's loser attitude and in response what do you do ... drag Federer into it. Stop being obsessed with Federer! You should be more concerned about the foolish Breakpoint who called Federer a pedophile!
