    Good find man!

Can you possibly tell us what the cost was (or a range if you'd rather)?

If you can't post pics you can send 'em to me and I'll post them on your behalf :)

Awesome find mate, it's a beaut!  :) Looks like it was strung by Frank Messerer, Roger's personal stringer at that time.

it looks like there's plastic wrap on the handle. Did you measure the racket weight with that on? Could that be the reason for the weight difference in his rackets now and the one you have?

Judging by the Rolex the OP is wearing, it probably cost a pretty penny.

It wont be cheap that's for sure but then again this is money well spent!
Almost an investement and will only gain profit in time...

    Great find!
Interesting cos that was the year he switched to the Gut/Alu hybrid...

Just out of curiosity, how come there are main strings broken on either side of the racket??

Is it me, or does the grip somehow look bigger than it does on his "newer" frames?
Maybe he decided to use a slightly smaller one...

That grip is too big to be Federer's imo... maybe the previous owner used the racquet and added some size to it.

It's a 4 3/8 with only one overwrap. It does feel different to the retail ones. It's never been used since the Hewitt match.

An overgrip usually weighs 5 to 6 grams - plastic wrap would add a few grams but 8 seems a bit high.

No, he had already switched to the Tour 90 by 2003. In fact, he switched to the 90 in mid-2002.

Yeah, wow, that racquet looks smaller than a 90. It looks a lot like my 85 with a 16x19 pattern.

It's normal for natural gut strings to break when left in a racquet for a long period of time.

Send it to me and I will restring it for you for free, how's that for an offer!
If it gets lost in the post I will send a replacement. Can't say fairer than that.

Amazing yours is the only other one of these I've ever seen:shock:

Here is a photo of mine, without original stringing unfortunately!

Does yours also not have the retail rough grey paint around the hoop? As I can't see in your photos!
