They are so tacky-looking with their shiny sheen and gaudy weird excessive stripes and poor fit. I can't ever remember seeing him in a Sergio Tacchini that I didn't actively dislike.

    There, I said it.

ST is trying to stand out - and they're accomplishing their goal, but for all the wrong reasons. You have to hope Djoko isn't being consulted on this hideous garbage.

Adidas' worst decision was to drop him.

No, their worst decision was signing Murray. I sure hope he's selling a lot of clothes for them in the UK, 'cause he sure ain't hoisting a lot of trophies these days. Djoko was probably paid way over market value by ST to get him on board - no way adidas could have seen this run coming. It's a shame that ST isn't going to reap the benefits of his success, since so few people will buy that horrible stuff, even with him wearing it.

I think signing murray had more to do with him being connected with Wimbledon as a Brit, if he were to win it one day You can be sure Adidas will make a fortune.

Used to like the tacchini stuff but since djokovic signed for them their clothes have become absolutely horrible! Although the retro shirts look cool like the one Andreev was wearing in Rome but too pricey!

I think it looks pretty sweet, except for the back. However, the ST itlian range (red-green-white) is so much better!

I would say, against all you guys, that the Italian brand is talented in designing Nole's clothings since his switch. Although I still prefer him wearing Adidas, I especially like his current line (both front and back), it's awesome. Again, receiving lots of criticism about his Dragon outfit, that was probably the best designs by ST - emerging from the traditional classics. I don't really like what Nole's wearing for the start of this season till the Rome Masters, but anyway, that's what he wear for the 32 games winning streak.

personally, the front looks fine to me, but the back is where the design gets a little funky.

I love Nole's (current) ST gear. The Rome outfits - black or white shirts, it doesn't matter - look fantastic. They're much better designs than the previous Ed Hardy dragon rubbish, and the design just before the current one (the blue stripes running along the upper chest).

But the ones right now I'd be willing to buy and wear without any feeling of self-conscious doosh-baggery, because the designs are pretty tasteful. It's just annoying that Tacchini seem to introduce a new Djokovic line every quarter. There's no longevity about it. We won't be able to instantly recall Nole's clothing designs as easily as we can about the enduring Lendl, Mac and Edberg "ranges", for example, because those designs generally ran for over several seasons/years.

The front of his shirt is okay, though I would prefer one solid color stripe running across, all those colors just make it too busy.

And the back of the shirt is what really makes him look like a clown... You don't put stripes or ridiculous designs on the back of polos, ever.

He also really needs to be wearing black shoes with the rest of his black outfit. I dunno...he looks so Third-World-trying-to-hang-with-the-first in this Tacchini crap.

I actually like this one compared to that annoying Serbia colored outfit he wore for 3 months and also that cheesy dragon one he wore towards the end of last year.

reminds me of the Apple "think different" logo

Novak is so overt with his nationalistic pride - his post-match Serbia T-shirt at the Madrid presentation, the Serbian colours he wears at non-Davis Cup events, the outfit you mention above etc etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if ultra-nationalist Serb youths and gangs start adopting Tacchini gear the way British skinheads co-opted Fred Perry shirts.

The 80's was a good decade for fashion?? I'm sorry but looking at the movies back them, the outfits seemed absolutely horrendous and outrageous.

Yeah when you think of Tennis gear, Sergio Tachinni definitely does not come to mind, at all.

Same with those horrible Tommy Hilfiger commercials they keep running... Who the **** wears TH on court? Absolutely no one. Worst ****ing commercial I've ever seen in my entire life.

It could arguably be said that, after Rene Lacoste, Sergio was the bloke who single-handedly created the tennis apparel category in the first place.

Yeah as I said before, the latest range looks superb but the only criticism I'd lay against the Tacchini designers is the woefully derivative "ND" seen on the bottom of his shirt pictured above. Such a blatant rip-off of "RF", right down to the typeface.

I don't think those shirts are bad looking. There are worse ones out there. Some of Nadal's shirts are pretty ugly IMO. If they pay you or give you free clothing you'll wear whatever they give you. Period.

His current get up isn't that bad. The only thing that bugs me is the shiny fabric. Just doesn't belong on a tennis court.

if one is unfamiliar with 70s-90s tennis, perhaps. Mcenroe, Connors and Sampras among others all wore sergio tacchini for a time.

Sergio Tacchini sponsored tommy robredo more recently back when he was in the top ten just 5 or six years ago. so surely, for some, it certainly does come to mind.

Well, firstly, the Mac Young Line polos have all been reissued recently, with both classic and new, err somewhat less classic, colours. Also, I like how some of Djoko's designs riff on the Young Line theme; personally, I wouldn't wear any of them, but there's clearly a nod to their heritage amidst the funky excess :)
