what's up with that??
its a decent racquet, i know 2 ppl that use it. it's just average, nothing really stands out about it hence the bad reviews
No feel. Strings don't last long because of no grommets,Tour Diablo/POG is better.
I had a NXG midplus and it was a very nice racquet, it played very well but fell average. It is a great frame, just very damp.
I love my NXG OS frames. They have the "grippiest" feel of any racquet I've used, with unmatched ball-pocketing. They have a balance that is way too headlight - but they are perfect platforms for customization. So I currently have mine leaded up in the upper half of the hoop to a swingweight of about 370, and I have removed the red-colored 4-gram silicone rubber insert from the butt to make it less head light, with a weight of about 12.6 oz. and a balance of about 12.9".
Ive hit with the NXG OS and thought id hate it as i use a 90square inch frame but it was really nice. Good spin, not too much power (i strung it at 65lbs), really comfy and great control. I agree that it has good ball pocketing. It makes a really great doubles frame as volleys were amazing, the sweetspot is massive. Would recomend it to anyone.
BTW it does eat strings- i broke the factory strings on my demo within 20 mins then restrung it and broke syn gut in an hour. I think this is due to the fact it has no grommets. ah well...
Here in the UK they sell them for £40 so its a great deal.
5x Wilson Ncode Six-One Tour
Prince Synthetic Gut Mains @ 62lbs
Tecnifibre Polyspin Crosses @ 60lbs
Leather Grips + Pro's Pro Overgrips
I play with the NXG mid. Its the only player's racquet I've played with, but I absolutely love it. I like the feel of it. If it is true that this racquet is inferior to the other Prince player's racquets, then I will be in for a real treat when I buy one of them.
I use it, I like it.
As Richard Feynmann (one of the pre-eminent physicists of the last 60 years) titled one of his books, "what do you care what other people think?"
The mid is somewhat heavy, extremely flexible, and low powered while the mp is a bit less flexible with a touch more pop and loads of spin potential. Both are a long way from a Bab PD or nSix-one 95, but the mid and mp are also different from each other. Feel is a little muted-moreso in the flexy mid-and they are longer in the suits of spin and control than real power. I'd favor the mid for singles and the mp for doubles.
im hitting with the OS frame.
my thought exactly.
i bot a couple for very cheap price.... OS, that is.
could never quite get where i wanted with it..... and i agree, better if you make less HL, but then you're adding weight
travelrajm (sorry if name slightly off).. what did you remove from the handle? very interested..
I found the OS flimsy. I am a POG OS user.
Of course the NXG OS is going to feel flimsy compared to the POG OS. I don't believe there is another racquet out thats more solid than the POG OS. It's OS, yet heavy, and not to HL, meaning good amount of mass in the head, which means very solid hits.
MORE Technology is just crap.
I've liked my NXG OS for clay court singles play. I've tended to use another frame in winter hardcourt doubles play just to get added passing power.
I haven't found string breakage at the frame to be a problem on the NXG. The frames at the end of the Prince MORE's seemed to lick the problem. The NXG came next.
I had the NXG mid, and it was hands down the worst frame I've ever owned. For me, no feel whatsoever, odd balance and uglier than Courtney Love in a negligee. But it's only fair to point out that I love and use a frame that a lot of other people hate: the Dunlop M-Fil 200. One man's junk...
About the NXG OS's string-eating problem...
Mine did tend to break strings at 12 where the string passes over the top. Since I started tubing with teflon tubing, it has not been a problem.
I'm curious what review you read? Because the TW review was extremely glowing for all 3 head sizes and the OS got the best review of the three. I agree its a damn ugly looking thing though.
Cozmo ive seen your painted frames before, where did you get them done??
