#2 He made the semis in 2008

He's only lost to Roger, so I think this year he'll have the experience + maturity in his game to take it to the next level and win his destiny Open.

    I doubt it.
But I like Djokovic so I wouldn't mind if it did happen.

    You a Fedole fan?

It doesn't look like it right now. I would surely like him to win it, beating Roddick and Fed along the way.

Doubt it the way DJoker's career has been spiraling downward out of control..

But a USO win, would give Djoker's career a big whoop in the boot and tons of momentum I think.

Sadly I dont see it.. I see a Murray-Fed rematch.

I hope we see a Nadal-Fed final though if Nadal is healthy enough and fortunate enough to where he can maybe sidestep Murray to make it there..

Since its the only slam final they havent opposed each other at.. It would make for some great tennis and interest again.

I hope Rafa drops to no.3 so he can meet federer in a semis maybe. Wouldn't it be great to have a Nadal-Murray slam final for a change.

A bold prediction, but I highly doubt it will happen.. even a semi will be considered good for Nole the way he's been playing recently.

Montreal and Cincinnati should give a good indication of how he's playing. But I got my money on Roddick.

I doubt it. Djoker doesn't look too good at the moment. Of course, all that could change after the coming two masters, if he wins one or two, he could have a confidence boost and go into the USO and make a great run.

Possible, but doubtful. Djoker's level of play has dropped off each year...he didn't play as well in 08 as in 07 -- was lucky to get thru Roddick in the QF when Roddick was much worse than he is now.

Plus the other players don't fear him as they did a year ago. I personally think he's a prime upset victim to lose before the QF -- just like at the French.

I'd be more interested to see what the over/under is on Djoko making the second week.

Hopefully he is out of his mid-year slump by now. If Nadal is not 100% for the USO, Djokovic has a great chance to win his second slam. Who could stop him this time around? Federer sure isn't.

Haas, Murray and Roddick could be a treat. We can't really say anything until the draws come up.

Roddick is an overrated has-been who needs to go all the way to beat an injured college kid who has nothing but serve. Haas is practically retired, he won some on grass and clay, but his old joints won't hold up for hardcourts. Facing Murray in the final? Now that could be a threat for Novak.

roddick might just have a serve and some kind of groundies but if novak was so good he wouldve been in the finals of wimby.

he retired to roddick at ao bc of the heat?
then losing to haas at wimby?

just like the other serbs hes just a one hit wonder who will retire more games or just continue to fall in "his slump"

Exactly. The way he's been playing lately gives no indication of anything great. Maybe he'll turn it around on the hard courts but it doesn't seem likely.

Having said all that...I wish he would turn it around. It's always more interesting when everyone is a threat.

True, the next two Masters should give an indication of his level of play but I really can't understand what this prediction is based on today.

I wouldnt mind it happening but I doubt it. His confidence and head are just completely out of whack now. Hopefully he atleast makes the quarters, it is sad expectations are that low now.

It'll all be down to the next two masters. Then we'll see how he's doing, as well as how Murray, Fed and Nadal are doing, which will of course affect Nole's chances during USO.

Yes I forsee something similar to Wimbledon with Federer, Murray, and Roddick battling it out and Federer probably winning, blech! Hopefully Nadal is back to his very best by early next year and Djokovic has seen a shrink. I wouldnt even mind Murray winning as atleast the hype machine wont be as annoying as if he won Wimbledon. Anyone other than Federer at this point.

It's kind of funny, it's like people were saying this for years. :)

I wouldn't mind Djokovic winning USO, IF he steps up and shows his talent.

  40. No,he will not win this year, this is his toughest your for a long time with lots of early defeats at big tournaments, his confidence cant be very high. Djokovic will lose to Roddick Murray Federer,Soderling and a few others.

I think he would rather have Nadal in his side of the draw than Federer, who has beaten him twice at the US Open, convincingly.

Don't forget that last year Federer was doing crap in those two masters, as well as in the Olympics singles tourny, yet came back to win the US Open.
