I need to be at work tomorrow. Sorry to disappoint everyone.

I think the names below are generic enough so no need to edit them out.

This is to give you guys an insider look at how these programs are filmed.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Important Announcement about taping tomorrow at RV.

John at RV has asked us to limit the number of participants tomorrow at RV for the filming with the Tennis Channel. I have the 16 people listed below as attending. If any of you cannot come, please let me know immediately as I do have a waiting list. (If you are not on this list, I'll be happy to add you to the sub list.)

    Richard B.
    Claudia S.
    Bobbie
    Al/Peg
    Pat P.
    Lonna
    Nino
    Chris T.
    Colleen
    Jeff/PJ
    George
    Jim
    Ray
    Nabih

Please arrive by 1:00 pm at our usual courts at RV. We'll warm up and start playing. John may have us move down to the other courts at 2:00 pm. We will also be filmed at the bar after they film us playing tennis. You may not get in much tennis. We are at the beck and call of the film crew.

To clear things up, this thread serves two important purposes:

To inform readers of recreational tennis programs on Tennis Channel and thus to stimulate them and grow the sport of tennis

To provide an insight into how these programs are made

Yeah otherwise it is a pretty stupid thread.

Seriously or just email the participants directly, in the future. Most of us are scratching our heads as to why this thread was created or what it means

Bud... you must be stupid. I, for one, realized the intent and purpose of this thread immediately. It's obviously a coded message of some sort. He probably didn't feel safe conveying his message through conventional means. I will be decoding this message, I hope to have it done in the next few days.

    sureshs I'm onto you!

Well if watching you play is anything like you post. Then I will be washing my hair of feeding my gold fish around a bout that time the show airs...

Unfortunately, I won't be seen with my APD non-cortex with my red Global Gut wrapped with a leather grip. I was about to show them 3.0's.... something to laugh about on the way home!

This post makes no sense nor did your last one. Do us a favor and quit while you're ahead (or learn to speak/write English correctly).

BTW, the 2 APD's are for sale. So, you may want to consider investing in a real racquet :)

Ah, but the difference is that you were not invited. I was, and declined. Stupid guys decided to film on a working day, so only retired people could show up.

To clarify the mystery of this thread, let me explain a little more. Tennis channel has a lot of programs showing "Destination this or that" where they have a few shots of rec players, and tons of shots of the good looking Mieka Buchan. There has not been a single program on rec players. This group of people who will be featured belong to a tennis network: http://www.tennis-sandiego.com/. We pay a small yearly fee and $5 each time we play. The venues are upscale resorts and clubs and the emphasis is on the social aspect, with most players heading to the bar after tennis (the bar will also be featured in the program). Most of us also belong to a primary club and use this network to widen our group of players. A similar network has been created in LA by the same guy who originally started this one: http://www.ca*********work.com/. (that would be ca tennis network) It is high time tennis media started covering the ordinary folks who play tennis and constitute the backbone of the industry.

Some pretty smart reasons to film on a work day, rather than a day that's convenient for you:

    A. THEY were working, so it makes perfect sense to do it on a work day.
    B. With less people on the courts and fewer gawkers milling around, it's a lot easier for them to get their job done in a timely fashion.
    C. They were being considerate to people who work, can only play tennis on the weekend and would rather have courts available than be on some goofy TV show.

    And two other possible factors:
    D. Union TV employees probably get time-and-a-half for weekend work.
    E. The club/resort/city/court operators/whoever may have insisted they film when they did.

Then maybe you should post on this boards, or mail/phone the players directly if you were actually responsible for organization, which...obviously...you're not. And no....nobody cares, if you DON'T get into an "extras" shot on a cable tv show. Talk about attention seeking! lol.

I saw most of it! Were those your 'buddies' at the end...part of the San Diego tennis club? Beautiful location, though.

Are you going to tell the posters in the other thread that SD means San Diego or let them continue thinking South Dakota?
