Well, for what it is worth, the first vid of the lady seemed to be from Wimbly, or at least a grass tour event. She is doing better than we are!! :)

The second, the guy, I just don't know what to say about that one. I'll leave it alone.

All of you should check ot the Dann and Brian Battisone Brothers on the tube that's a serve.Check it out, sickest jump serve ever. The two handed natural racquet is a joke to me you decide.

    Good stuff, you guys.
One JuanIgnasioChela has that first women's service motion. With that motion, he was ranked up to #9 in the world.
    The rest are beginners.
That jump serve is NOT beginner. It's something to be examined more closely before we adopt or pooo poo it.
Volleyballs serves are like that, and consistent.
Some bad quarterbacks jump throw, and some really good ones in college do that.
If he hits 130, gets the first one in 50% all the time, why not?
I remember the first time I saw JohnLucas play a match. His first serve was struck when his feet were well over 1' off the court. He was 6'6". I think that year, he was ranked top 30 in the world...PRO level.

    Sure, why not?
Forums are for entertainment, as well as some knowledge.
    Look it up!
JohnLucas played basketball for the Warriors maybe 3 seasons, barely as 6th man.
He decided at 33 to quit basketball and concentrate on his tennis. When he was 16, he was nationally ranked top 3 in the 18's. He decided more money was to be made in basketball than tennis.
But at 33, he decided to give tennis another try.
I saw him in the TransAmerica local pro tournament. He'd go maybe 3 rounds the 3 years I watched. His serve was as fast as Tanner's, but jumped waaay higher. Well, he WAS 6'6" and what's considered a swingman in basketball.
If you know basketball at all, you'll already know "swingmen" are the all around most athletic players on the team.....not necessarily the 5 best, but usually can cover two or 3 positions and jump to the moon.
John could get his elbows 6" above the rim with 3 steps.
Sounds like a story. Yes it is, but it's also true.

That first one looks like Charles Barkley's golf swing.

If you guys get a chance try that jump serve.{if you can}After my first 10 tries, without foot faulting.I feelt like I was serving like Happy Gilmore. If your mechanic's are good and 6'4" It's a serve I believe we'll be seeing soon on tour.

the problem with it, is its flirting with an "illegal" serve. its been discussed on here several times. its really close to being illegal, but its really not. you never know.

It isn't illegal otherwise Safin's serve would be considered illegal also, as he also takes a step (a full step also) that does move his momentum forward and moves his backfoot, slides it up, and then presses off both feet.

You can clearly see Safin moving forward with his front foot here. He also foot faults alot too because of this :p

Why do you need two handles for that serve?

Thanks for the good laugh!! The guy was really funny! But if these players' winning percentage is higher than their loosing percentage then all of the more power to them.
