Anyone want to bet against this? Not sure on the OOP for the WTF but in the event that Nadal and Djokovic both qualify, and Djokovic wins the first semi final of the day, Nadal will lose to whoever he faces in his semi.

He's not ready to face Djokovic until he really needs to, like a major final or on clay. Let's see....

Rafa has to be "ready" to face Djokovic now????????? Nonsense. Rafa is anything but a coward. And in any case, even just a 2nd WTF final would be a great achievement for him. He's never gonna back down on something like that.
ETA: Rafa leads their head to head at WTF 2-1. Novak is the one who should be scared.

If rafa will face delpo in semis i think delpo will win it anyways.
    Rafa not his best indoors.

But maybe it is good for him wait facing djocovic until AO.

Rafa has been tense after USO, the n 1 thing overtook his brain. Dont think he mind facing djocovic when he knows he is n 1.

That is very likely scenario. However I think he would lose anyway. Nadal is not making the final regardless of what Djokovic do.

The flip side of having an easy group stage, is that you have a tough SF. Duh.

Nadal will compete his heart out regardless of the situation because that's just how he is, but the fact of the matter he has #1 locked up, he doesn't give an actual **** about this. His sights are on AO2014.

Guess I worded my comment poorly. Nadal by nature "cares" about every match. But if he lost this, he really wouldn't be that upset because it's not a huge deal for him. At this point in his career the vast majority of his focus is on the slams.

“Believe me, for him it’s very, very important,And I really think Rafa has a great chance this year.”- Manuel Santana (talking about Nadal and the WTF.)

Nadal is only making the final if he plays injured/exhausted Federer or injured/exhausted Delpo in the semi. If either of them are fine he will lose. It comes down to how long Fed vs Delpo match is. If it over 3 hours (like in the Olympics) then Nadal makes it to the final. If it is hour and a half Nadal is not making it to the final.

Really? Are you absolutely 100% sure about that? I love how you word it so that Nadal's possible win can only come IF certain things happen. Will that make you feel better at the end of the day if Nadal wins only under those circumstances you have set up? If Nadal wins he wins, end of story. Nobody will care if he wins because Delpo or Fed were too exhausted. Don't underestimate Nadal. This is not his best surface for sure but he wants this missing trophy in his cabinet case and if he is in the SF (which he already is) and F, he may just do it. I think Djokovic is the favorite but I can never underestimate this Nadal, I have learned my lesson.

Funny but expected nonsense responses from Nadal haters. He only wins if......I guess if that makes you feel better about yourself....keep believing that bs.

Obviously Delpo and Fed have much tougher RR matches than the clowns Nadal is playing in RR so I am just explaining how Nadal can get to the final even thou he wouldn't be there if he traded his draw with Novak. Won't matter anyway because as soon as plays Novak it is game over for Nadal.

Remeber in 2011 when Nadal had tough RR draw and didn't make the semi? Yeah that's exactly what would have happened with Novak's draw for him this year. 1-2 record in RR.

And if Fed-Delpo is only an hour and Nadal still makes the final? You'll probably still claim that Delpo/fed was exhausted in his SF match with Nadal.

Let's face it, at this point in the season, all players are exhausted. Probably also explains the poor level of play we've seen so far...

I don't think that Nadal is coward, LMAO. Although I don't like Nadal as a person at all + his team, I gotta give him credit for this year's accomplishments.

What comes to this year's final at O2, Djokovic's potential win against Nadal would be very nice indeed. And for the record, I m not Djokovic-fan but I just don't like Nadal at all for obvious reasons.

Dude, no way Fed/Delpo is a one hour formality and you know it. Fed doesn't have it that bad because he played the headcase in between the 2 mammoths but Delpo? Poor guy. He's gonna have to play Djoko, Fed and Nadal back to back (and probably Djoko again if he made it that far) . If that is not an unlucky draw at WTF, then what is  And it is tiring to play the top guns (look at IW) both mentally and physically. Come on, one can be a Nadal fan and still be fairplay. It would take something superhuman for Delpo to survive that draw/schedule. (The one positive is that they have one more day than masters to play their 5 matches but it's a slim one considering how tough the competition is)

If Nadal qualifies for the final first and Djokovic loses, it would mean the Serb is scared of the Spaniard.

Djoker played one of the matches at WTF without his contact lenses, didn't he ? That was in 2010 and his last loss to Nadal before the 7 finals in a row happened.
