Agassi and Federer won 7, if Djokovic won Shanghai he would have 7 also.

    I can one up that.

Djokovic will be the first player since Federer to have played the finals in all nine Masters, the WTF and all four slams, if he beats Berdych tomorrow.

Funny how anytime someone brings up a record, it's something Fed's already accomplished.

Like the Golden Slam achieved by Nadal, or 43-winning streak by Nole? Some *******s are really full of themselves. PUKE.

Agreed, Federer has a lot of records (some which will be unbreakable) but I think djokovic will set some records of his own like the most AO titles in the open era and others so lets see what will happen in the next few years

Correction for what? Are you admitting you have multiple accounts? Define important then. Can't wait to see most of Fed's records get broken one by one by Nole, Nadal or anyone else.

Isn't Djokovic's streak short of the record? And the golden slam is not nadal's record, Agassi did it first. Nadal equalled Agassi's record.

But of course Federer doesn't have all the records, that would be stupid. But he will end up with more than Novak.

Yes, that is definitely a great stat. And if Djoko wins Shanghai, he will have won 7 out of the 9 masters (like Fed and Agassi). Right now Fed lacks M-C and Rome. Djoko lacks M-C, Cincy and Shanghai. (Nadal lacks Miami, Cincy and Paris, Agassi didn't get M-C and Hamburg- ).

Federer has ALMOST all the records: he has # of weeks at #1, total # of slams and # of titles at 1 slam (shared record but 7 is the maximum so far), he has record for most different masters won (shared with Agassi: 7), he has record for most WTF won. He has the career slam too. He doesn't have total # of masters but he is pretty close to that one too. And he's closing in on getting 6 year ends at #1. The only records Fed doesn't have other than most masters (Lendl and Nadal) are most titles at 1 master (Nadal has that), most titles total (Connors) and his career slam is not golden + no DC title of course.

True. Though even as a Federer fan I'm still glad that other people do have records, it would be too boring otherwise.

I may be wrong, but I think at the moment Federer is tied with Nadal for 21 masters behind Lendl's 22 masters equivalent titles.

I think he already owns a pretty impressive record, ie, most retirements in grand slam matches. And he can be sure this is a record that Federer will never even threaten. ;)

Edited for accuracy. You're right. Fed has 21 master titles (equal with Nadal): he has 4 IW, 2 Miami, 6 Hamburg/Madrid, 2 Canada, 5 Cincy, 1 first fall and 1 Paris. He will get the record if he wins Shanghai.

    I just checked, and I make out 21 for Federer. 4 IW titles, 2 Miami, 4 Hamburg, 3 Madrid (2 clay, 1 hard) 2 Canada, 5 Cinci, 1 Paris.

Edit - nevermind, just saw you edited. Yeah a win would tie him with Lendl. Looking possible that both Nadal and Federer could overtake Lendl (Nadal almost 100% if he doesn't retire within the next 5 months) also Lendl had a walkover in the final of one masters final.

What's also interesting is if Federer won Shanghai, then until the end of Paris at least, he would hold 5 masters titles simultaneously for the first time in his career.

OK but not that impressive because the 5 were over 2 seasons. In that department, Djoko still reigns with 5 master titles in 1 season. If Fed wins both Shanghai and Paris, amazingly, he will tie that record this year. That would be something at his age!

it's still over 12 months though, but since paris is so close to shanghai i would agree Djokovic's 5 masters in a season is much more impressive especially when you consider it was the first 5 masters he played that year and he made the final of cinci with a shot at 6/6.

But in any case my only point is it would be a personal record for Federer to hold 5 masters at once, relitively late in his career (he would tie his personal best for masters in a season which is pretty unexpected at this stage in his career)

Nadal winning Monte Carlo 8 years in a row trumps winning 7/9.

    Nadal being Nadal trumps everything.

Actually I'm thinking of Djokovic being Djokovic.

Actually I'm thinking of Andy doing Kim. Yes that trumps everything

Yes, the 8 years in a row is an absolute record (at any event) while the 7 out of 9 is only a shared record. If anybody ever won all 9 masters, that would be on par with the 8 in a row stat, which is simply phenomenal.

I'm waiting for the day someone comes along and wins all 9 in a season.

Would it be wishful thinking to want the Grand Slam and WTF as well? :) What a year that would be, it would spoil tennis forever I think

I see Towser is back now that his fav is winning again(coincidentally after the Olympics are over ). Can't seem to hack it when he is losing slam finals, and getting bageled by Fed in the final of a masters tournament.

I could see Djokovic winning all the Masters in his career which would be something he will have over Federer and Nadal who will never manage the feat. Federer has Rome and Monte Carlo to win, he will likely never win either at this point, and definitely not Monte Carlo which is slow clay and which he rarely even plays now. Nadal still has Miami, Cincinnati, and Paris to win, and hasnt won a Masters off clay in awhile now.

Indeed, very perceptive on your part.

eh? Since the us open there have been no decent tournaments around, this is the first masters since. Did i post anything when djokovic won the China open? No cos its minor. So that's a big slice of BS. And i was here when djokovic lost the us open final and the aftermath and when federer beat him in Cincinnati... cos even though i wanted djokovic to win that one, federer is still my all time favourite player and quite proud he managed to get the bagel. So more BS. funny from you - you disappear any time one of your predictions is turning out crap again.

Once again you are clueless. but that's part of your charm.

Wait, aren't i a ******* according to you? so how can what she said be perceptive if she says Novak is my favourite? it also doesn't dawn on you that since i've not been posting because this is the first big title since the us open, and neither djokovic or federer have won anything big recently. well djokovic won a 500 but i didn't even come back to post about that minor event which shows how much i care.

I do? I've been here even when Nadal was losing final after final, and lost to mugs like Flo Mayer,Rosol, and Dodig. You,otoh, have not been here nearly as much since ******* has been losing more often. No way you would stick it out if your favorite player was a mug like Nadal while he is losing over and over again constantly. You would've booked it out of here a long time ago.

And glad to see you like my new nickname for Humpty Dumpty. Lol.

And are you one of those that high tailed it out of here when ******* lost those slam finals/masters finals, but have now returned since he started winning again? Something tells me you are.

Again you display your cluenessless. Your predictions are that nadal will lose and Djokovic will win everything. Thus when nadal is actually winning a title or beating Djokovic or djokovic is losing, you disapear. In the RG final you were totally gone til Djokovic won a set, then you came back to go on about how nadal was finished

Basically I've been here through every slam and most master series apart from when I was abroad during Madrid and the first week of RG, most of those titles Djokovic did not win. During Wimbledon I was even arguing with F1Bob and GodNovak for talking up Djokovic and saying he would destroy Federer. On the otherhand I wasn't around at all during the China open which Cvaula won and always looked certain to. So once again you're talking crap.

And I've already told you Federer is my favourite player, I've just got tired of him dominating the game. Everyone on here who has accused me of being a **** has said ******* (they're idiots too but whatever) but it's just your own obsessive dislike of Djokovic that colours your opinion.

    Total fantasy time

You picked on me cos I call out your BS again and again. If you want a vocal Djokovic fan it's DFTW, F1bob, GodNovak, and I notice someone new but can't remember the name.

Again, you're an idiot if you can't see that since those masters/slam finals there has been no top tennis tournament until now - a final which Djokovic looks like losing btw.

Also, I wouldn't blame anyone if they didn't feel like posting when the players they liked weren't doing well, I only would look down on them if they went around bragging about how their player was going to destroy everyone and laughing at other players losses. Which I don't do. I'm happy when Federer and Djokovic win but even when Novak was killing Nadal again and again, I maintained Nadal would beat him again and in no way was Djokovic a certainty. In contrast to yourself. I also gave Murray a lot of chance, in fact NadalAgassi laughed at me for saying Murray could still win the US Open final when it was 2 sets all.

Basically you don't like me, which is fine. But stop making up BS.

How many times do I have to tell you that I do not post during the matches? I rarely ever post a thing while the match is going on. It's nothing new for me to not be on here at that time. And I always come back and post again after the match is over. You're just full of crap about this,Towser.

Saying this is like talking about of both sides of your mouth at the same time. If Fed was really your fav, there is no way you would want to see him losing only because he's dominating too much. What kind of bs is that?

Nope, but I know you as a rabic Cvaculatard,so that's why I singled you out for disappearing when ******* was losing in big matches. Don't worry though as he has reformulated his magic potion, and will win everything there is to win for the foreseeable future.
