My favorite players are Nadal, Murray, Monfils, and Roddick. What does this say about me as a fan and a tennis player?

    That you're not a Fed worshipper :)
That you have good taste: :p
(Nadal and Murray are my favorites as well, although on clay I would have to say Nadal and Djoko)
Stylewise it's a little intriguing: 3 amazing defensers and 1 pure server!

HEY!!! Im just curious as to what all these players have in common. I began tennis 7 months ago and I will probably end up having somewhat of their playing style as my game develops or so i think.

Karlovic is a pure server, Roddick isn't that 1 dimensional

to the OP: it says nothing about you...

All 4 are pretty defensive from the baseline and have 2 handed backhands. They all have abbreviated/semi-abbreviated serves except Murray. They all like to play fairly deep in the court.

Tells me you're very balanced as a person. You're versatile, a do-it-all type, and you are probably very open-minded. Sometimes you have your mood swings (borderline PMS), but you have your good moments too. You probably enjoy the finer things and live and long to explore many different places and experience new things.

Well you seem to have no bias towards the nationality or skin color of the player, which is refreshing. As for you as a tennis player, I can only guess.... maybe you are not a very tactically gifted player.

edit: I like chocolate icecream and long walks on the beach. What does that say about me as an icecream fan and a beach walker?

Diagnosis: Your selection of favorite players indicate a high likelihood that you are suffering from clinical bad tennis taste. No need to panic yet, but you should seek a professional evaluation with a mental health provider if the symptoms persist for more than a few weeks.

    just kidding. ;)
(excepted for nadal and murray: in this case this is really serious. please consult your doctor.)

It means you like big defense rather than big offense, which is fine, but I don't dig that style of tennis, although I like Murray. Roddick doesn't fit there with the rest of the guys you mentioned as far as tennis style goes, as he's a big serve/aggressive baseliner (though not so much today).

    Interesting favourites.

It says that you like player with boring personalities on/off court (except Roddick).

It says that your style is maybe that you have quite a big serve with other weapons but you choose to grind from the baseline.

OK that was good, but there are better backhands (safin, nalbandian and others) who use a 2HBH. Are they wimps??????

Nadal and Murray have something in common, but neither Monfils, nor Roddick belongs to this league. So maybe tenniswise you like defensive counter-attackers, long rallies, passing shots and drop shots. You are American (hence Roddick), and you're black American (hence Monfils).

You seem to like defensive but not "pushing the ball" tennis....these are some hard-hitters..esspecially monfils....you probably like your points to last long and then end it with a fast...maybe flater ball.......

It means you can't make up your mind. You have trouble making decisions and coming to decisions about things, and have a tendency to hang on decisions. Maybe this thread is an example.

So later in life when you meet that special someone in your life, you'll end up meeting 3 more special someones and you will post on a relationship forum that you like these 4 chicks, and you'll ask them to find the answers for you over which lady (or man) to pick.

As someone who knows the OP and hits with him pretty regularly, he is a bit of a pusher... ;-)

He is learning, much faster than I ever could. I do have to say that he isn't someone who will be hitting a one-handed topspin backhand any time soon, but his two-hander is much better than anyone else I've seen come along in 7 months time, so that argument is moot.

Of the four players he mentioned, he's like Roddick with Nadal's serve (slower with more spin), a hard worker but still learning. Is this right Vyse? :)
