I feel scared for Federer after watching this. Hope this Murray doesn't come to play.
Federer isn't English...and Bawss loves him.
I know you weren't a hater the other day, but are you becoming one?
He has seen the light. He's one of us now.
I won't watch it either, but if Andy gets to the final I hope he wins.
See when people start with the "Murray Fans" generalisation nonsense I lose respect for people.
You're better than that I hope.
And deep down you know Djokovic and Murray are the top two form players.
Even "Federer Fans" will admit that. Objective fans of tennis will admit that.
Don't categorise people into somebody fans. It's really crass and ignorant.
Good posters are just fans of tennis.
I'd love to see Federer do well actually and prove us wrong even beating Murray and Djokovic.
I want Murray to win, that's who I follow, but I'd also be glad to see Federer proceed.
And if Djokovic wins also I can appreciate his great talent.
I can't really lose because I love good tennis.
Go through his posting history. I think you will have your answer.
And you and many others on here have just conceded the fact that you are Federer fans/gloryhunters and not tennis fans.
No doubt you'd be thrilled to stay up to watch the exhilarating Federer vs. Ferrer beatdown if that were the final, however.
Objectively, I will not admit that. On this court, Murray has a better chance to beat Djoker IMO. I will admit that, but for this tournament it's hard to tell if Murray is #2 behind Djoker or not. He's had a ridiculously easy draw, and even Murray fans will admit that. The match itself is a 50/50 toss up in most people's eyes. Murray may be a very slight favourite. Why would I admit that Murray and Djoker are the 2 top form players? Because Murray has a better chance to beat Djokovic? Sorry, it doesn't work that way.
As for a hypothetical Murray/Djokovic final. Sure I'll watch it. Live. At 5:00 in the morning. Why wouldn't I?
Serious question. Would you not watch either way? Or a better way to put it, would you watch if Federer made the final?
Probably not. I don't want to subject myself to another Lance victory and ape-like celebration. I'm not into self abuse.
The general trend and form over time is leaning towards Djokovic and Murray as the dominant players IMO.
As I said I would also be mighty impressed if Federer bucked the trend.
Murray-Nole will be boring.. But it won't be a straight set demolition like a Fed/Nole match will be here.
Fed can't hang with Nole in Australia.. Thats been proven the last two times they have played.. And Nole is finally entering that peak form again like he had here in 2011\
No one can beat Nole here when hes playing like he is now, but at least Murray could make it interesting for a while
And you're even worse than the Federer gloryhunters. Ironic that you complain about how the Federer fans malign Nadal, yet you often exceed them in your seemingly religious zealotry against Djokovic.
Oh no, someone beat my favourite player a couple of times. I better boycott their matches: that'll show them!
Oh no, too bad you have no idea what you're talking about since my dislike of Lance goes back years. Get this: I have never liked him. Ever. It did not start in 2011. He has always been a pathetic attention seeking clown, and I don't like his tennis. Unless you can honestly say you like every single player on the tour, and watch every match you can no matter who it is, you can keep your silly sarcastic garbage to yourself.
Ok I won't generalize. Apologize for that.
But I disagree with your assessment that Murray and Djokovic are the two current best players.
On what objective basis should I accept that Murray is second best and not Roger at the moment? Because Murray won the USO 6 months ago? or that he won Brisbane where Roger, Djokovic or Nadal weren't competing? or the fact that the last time they met in November Murray wasn't able to overcome Federer?
There's also the evidence that Federer came through in quarter with flying colors against some tough competition. There was general consensus when the draw came out that his quarter was more difficult but until the Tsonga match, Roger did not even lose serve.
I DO accept that Murray is indeed playing well. I'm not a hater and I certainly see him climbing the rankings ladder (and as Kragster says, do check my posting history about Murray). But for the sake of the discussion right now, #2 isn't settled until Murray can convincingly defeat Federer. Until then I hope people respect Roger's #2 rank. He didn't just win those points in a lottery. He's #2 because he performed consistently better than Murray over the last 12 months.
Their last match at this tournament was fantastic, although I agree watching matches like US Open 2012 is kind of a drag. There's the possibility of some very good tennis between these two, really all of the top 4.
I'll watch it instead of taking sleeping pills. But seriously if it is those two in the final, it will be interesting to see who wins
Their SF match last year at the AO was brilliant. Granted, Djokovic vs. Federer is more exciting than Djokovic vs. Murray, but nevertheless, I'll be tuning in unquestionably.
if tennis is like gymnastic with score in aesthetic play then Fed would have won 50 slams and counting. Nole and Murray make the game much less elegant as it should be. No more gentlements sport, tennis is transforming into gladiators sport. It's reality Gangnam style has conquered Ballet. How sad!
the final between rafa and djokovic last year was so much better than anything this year can give. djokovic vs murray and djokovic vs federer? wake me up when djokovic defends his title.
I'm not "boycotting" the match. I just said that I don't care to watch it.
If it is a Djokovic vs Murray final, I will cheer for whoever plays offense. Which probably means.........
Actually, last year a lot of people said the same about the match with Rafa. That Djokovic would win relatively easily. And he almost did. The only question was Djokovic's fitness coming off the 5 setter with Murray. You're using hindsight.
hindsight is usually a good tool to assess the present. but, maybe one of the matches will be a classic, if federer finds good form or murray plays aggressively. cant decide which is less probable at the moment.
Whatever our opinions, Murray is the favourite for this match but that could work against him psychologically putting more pressure on which could adversely affect his game and he's not really been tested but you have to ask why has he not been tested, even allowing for the easy draw, his level is obviously very high.
Federer is far more battle hardened and, to be honest, I'd be happy either way no matter who goes through. Obviously disappointed as a Murray supporter but as a tennis fan I'd be happy and I know Federer is going to have to play some really beautiful tennis to get through so that'll be very entertaining similar to the amazing tennis he played in the Wimbledon final.
neither do I
