The best attributes from Roddick, Hewitt, and Safin, and made one player, do you think he would be able to rival Federer?

I chose those 3 because they were the 3 who were hanging around the top in the earlier part of the decade, but could never break through because of Federer.

If you took all of the attritbutes from Safin alone but replaced his head with Roddicks or Hewitts, he would IMO probably be Federer's strongest rival on HC.

Ok so take Safin as the base model.
We give him Hewitts footwork/speed, determination, slice and overhead lob (just cos).
Then we give him Roddick's serve/overhead.

safin himself said that to beat federer a person would have to run like a rabbit like rafa nadal. i think hewitt is very fast but he's probably not as fast as nadal.

    Of course.

    Roddick's serve + FH
    Safin's BH
    Hewitt's movement

Surely that would have a decent H2H against Federer.

Just put Safin with Nadal's mental strength.

I believe Safin could have been an even better than Nadal versus Fed. He had so many shots he can do...
